Question for Christians

nazz

Doubting Thomas
If you had the power to save Jesus from dying on the Cross would you exercise that power? Even if it meant that you would then bear the burden of your own sins?

Peter tried, Jesus told him to step down. The same would happen with me. Even if I were to go in and start taking out the guards, He would say, "Shira, why are you doing this?! Don't you know that I must suffer and die, that others might be healed and live? Let me do this, for this is why I came down from Heaven, that just as I share in your death, you may share in my Life!"

Nope.
Jesus is our salvation, He had to die so that I may know God.
I wouldn't change a single thing with God's plan :)

On the one hand, I know it's God's plan. On the other, I would feel obligated to try and save Him anyway... And even if He did stop me, I would not be happy with just standing there and watching Him die. I would be the exact opposite of okay with it. Maybe it's the martial artist in me that demands that 1, I be loyal to my master, and 2, I don't let harm come to an innocent person.

Do you think you would have a very negative reaction to seeing Jesus on the cross, or would you be totally cool with it?

Oh well, Witnessing His death is a whole other thing..
I wouldn't be cool with it.. No way. I'd probably be freaking out and bawling my eyes out, Because His death was so gruesome. But would I stop Him? Knowing what I know.. I just don't think I could. How many people would I be condemning to hell if I stopped Him?

Would you save Abraham Lincoln from being assassinated knowing it would also mean radically altering world history, potentially affecting who you are today? I try to imagine what all would be affected by Jesus not being crucified. Would there have been the Christianity we know of today? Would Constantine have converted and made Christianity the religion of the West? Would everything that proceeded due to this organizing of religion under the structures of the Roman Empire have occurred and the face of nations and religions look anything remotely as they do today?

I think the real question is if I were a person of the day only knowing the moment and not the future, would I act to save him from being killed? Of course, were it humanly possible.

It was Gods will that Jesus lay down his life. I dont think anyone could have stopped it.
