Yeah, I watched it. I thought it was interesting, but they spent too much time on only a couple issues in depth. I think they should have let Griffin shoot himself in the foot on even more issues.
I do have a touch more respect for the BBC for living up to their duty of impartiality. The Director-General lays out his arguement nicely:
It is a straightforward matter of fact that, with some 6% of the vote and the election of two MEPs in this springs European elections and with some success in local elections as well the BNP has demonstrated a level of support that would normally lead to an occasional invitation to join the panel on Question Time.
I just wish they'd give the same allowance to the UK Independence Party.
I was uncomfortable with the personal nature of the attacks. Point scoring and emotional attacks were used more frequently than cool analysis of his party's various mental ideas. I fear that people might see it as a vulnerable man being bullied and feel sympathetic towards him.
