Questions for Homosexuals

Curious by nature, I have thought of a lot of questions about homosexuals that really need commentary. Here we go...

First off: I have noticed that gay men tend to be more effeminate than straight men, and gay women tend to be more masculine than straight women. I am not trying to stereotype, this is just what I have observed in the gay people I know. Question: are gay women attracted to a feminine or a masculine personality in other women? I am straight and I prefer a female who is feminine rather than masculine. But what about lesbians? They tend to be more masculine than straight women...does this mean that, although lesbians prefer the female body, they also prefer masculine personalities in their partners? Or do they prefer feminine personalities? Is it difficult for lesbians to find adequate partners if they are all looking for feminine personalities, yet most other lesbians are masculine?

Another thing: if you are attracted to your own sex, does that mean you can look in the mirror and be attracted to your own body? LOL, I would imagine if I were in a woman's body, I would look at myself naked in the mirror a lot.

Question of the third: Statistically, don't homosexuals have a better chance of finding a date on a gay cruise than, say, me going on a singles' cruise? I mean, think about it.....if I go on a singles' cruise of 500 people, 250 of those people are men and are not potential dates before I even get on the boat! However, if a gay man goes on a gay cruise, all 500 people on the cruise will be men, and they are ALL potential dates. That would be like me going on a cruise with 500 women! I'd pay a lot of money for that--I'll bet those gay cruises are expensive!

That's all I can think of for now....anyone else have questions or want to respond to mine?

Depends on the woman. Some lesbians are attracted to feminine women, some to more butch women, and some are attracted to anyone who isn't male.

Are you sure about that? I've met some very feminine gay women, and some very butch straight women.

I guess that would depend on how fit you are. I love the female body, but I don't look at myself in the mirror naked anymore than I have to. Although I suspect if I were more fit, I might linger in front of the mirror a little longer.

No idea. The only lesbian cruise I've looked into is the Olivia cruises, (and yes, they are expensive), that are for lesbian couples. So I wouldn't be going there to hook up, lol. I think that's a misconception about gay and lesbian only events. That they exist only to provide a place for people to hook up. That's what gay bars or for. Events like cruises and Gay Day at an amusement park, are organized to provide families and couples a safe and secure enviroment to relax and have fun, without feeling like they have to be careful who the hold hands around, or who's watching when you give your partner a kiss on the cheek.

I think Maize has answered pretty well from a lesbian point of view lol. One thing about the whole 'lesbians are masculine' concept...there are lesbians on either end of that scale, and a hell of a lot in between (like me). I wouldn't categorise myself as "butch" or particularly masculine (although some may disagree since I cut my hair off lol). I prefer wearing dresses or skirts, to shorts or pants in summer. I love wearing lingere. I shave my legs and pits (have always loved the feel of a smooth leg...mine or someone else's lol ). I have had long hair for the majority of my life (have cut it off several times during my adult life, but grew it to midway down my back several times). I have hobbies that would be considered 'feminine' (cross stitch/embroidery is one that springs to mind). I'm not a sporty person...up until recently, "exercise" was a dirty word for me (only one good reason to sweat... ). I guess I have personality traits that could be considered masculine, but if nobody knew, they wouldn't automatically label me a lesbian...just a strong woman lol. I speak my mind, and I don't take much bulls**t. But then, find me an Aussie woman who grew up on a farm who doesn't have those traits...

Same goes for gay men - not all are effeminate or limp wristed lol. My stepfather has a gay friend affectionately known to our family as "Mary". His real name is John, and he's a big, bad, bikie. He looks like he'd beat your head in as soon as look at you lol.

like maize said, its all a matter of opinion. i personally like shorter skinny guys who are masculine. but it really doesnt matter.

i personally think i look ugly. perhaps because im an artist, and my best critic. I may feel sexy, but im not attracted to myself.

i especially despise the world metrosexual. it has nothing to do with sexuality. its just used to describe a feminine guy into shaving legs and facial treatment. bah.

Something else about attraction (and yes, I know it sounds corny)...I am just as attracted (if not more so), to the inner person, as the outer person. I have always, always said that I don't like blondes...but my girlfriend is blonde lol.

Only the stereotypical tv/the ones you can tell when they walk into the room gays are like that. In reality, homosexuals and bisexuals of both genders can be of either end, or a healthy combination just like hets.

Its usually hard to find another lesbian/bi girl in real life (AKA not at an exclusively gay/bi place, etc) anyway. I don't think it's harder to find the butch ones or the fem ones.

Depends on the person and what they look like. ; )
