How to do Quotes
Simple single quotes. First go into your user preferences and turn off 'Rich-text-editing', so that you can see the bbcodes as in the following image. Then use the technique you see to manually create quote boxes. Everthing between the quote and the un-quote 'Tags' will appear quoted.
There is an easier way: Multi Quotes
Multi-quotes are also possible. There is a trick to partly automate quoting so you can select bits of quotes from multiple posts and then pop them into your next post. To easily do multiquotes go into your user preferences for this site and turn off 'Rich Text Editing'. This will allow you to see the quote codes. If rich-text-editing is turned on you won't see be able to see the codes as in the image above.
Highlight a post you want to quote from and let the mouse hover over the highlight. A menu will pop up. Click quote+. This will create a stored copy of whatever you highlighted. You can do this multiple times if you stay on the same page, and the site will store the quotes like ducks behind a momma duck. (This can also work with multiple pages, but you may have problems if you keep multiple RF pages open at the same time.) Next you will want to put all of your ducklings in a post. Go down to the editing area, and you should see a blue button that says "Insert Quotes". Click it. You will need to approve putting all the quotes into your reply. This will format and dump the quotations into your reply box.
Make sure that you don't edit or misrepresent the quoted text, as this is frowned on and looks like you are misquoting people. If a quoted post is too long and you take part of it out make sure to include dots that indicate plainly that part of the quote is missing. Do not put your replies inside the quotes. When you are done editing, click 'Post Reply'.
Two more things:
Hitting the 'Reply' button on someone's post automatically creates a quote of the text out of that post. If rich-text-editing has been turned off you can see how the quotations are formed.
The editing bar has a '+' symbol. This is a convenient editing feature. Highlight anything in the post (that you are writing), then click on that '+' plus symbol. Click 'Quote' and the web application will automatically put your words into a quotation. This works both with and without rich-text-editing features turned off.
