Raise Your Hand if You Didn't Know That 4 X 4 Lumber is Actually 3 1/2 X 3 1/2

I discovered my box of "Froot Loops" cereal contains absolutely no fruit. I can't tell you the mental anguish and suffering I've endured since finding this out. Somebody has to pay.

Don't know how to tell you this.... it might put you over the edge..... but your Fruit Rollups do not have any fruit in them either

In the Uk timber supplied sawn to size from the mill is the actual size as marked.
When it is supplied planed. It is planed from the sawn timber so is always smaller.

Timber from retail outlets is alway the size as marked sawn or planed, as amateures do not understand trade practices.

Any one ordering timber in bulk should state the finished size they require. To save being disappointed.

Then ask .
Which is more important? Following the law or getting a big settlement?

S/he'll answer with whatever you want to hear.
Tom

The law is always highly variable and flexible. The possibility of big settlements enhances these attributes.

I don't see that as "enhancement" myself. I would like the law to be less "flexible and variable".
YMMV
Tom

"Enhanced," as in "increased or intensified." Money involvement always results in more variability and flexibility of the law. Yes, I'm sure most people would like this not to be the case. Good luck to them all.

That's why they call them "Froot Loops." They have froot, not fruit.

But I can sympathize, as I suffered immensely upon realizing that "Lucky Charms" never gave me any luck. That wily Leprechaun and Toucan Sam were the slickest con artists since Snap, Crackle, and Pop.

I suppose it would depend on which industry it is, as some might require more precise measurements. I remember a gas station owner got into trouble for altering his gas pumps so that customers were getting less than they were actually paying for.

They also have to check supermarket scales as well, to make sure they're accurate.

In the Uk all weights and measures have to conform to government standards.

A standard british small loaf of bread used to weigh one pound.
a shop could be prosecuted for selling them larger or smaller.
A large loaf today weighs 800 gm.
