"Raising the Minimum Wage Kills Jobs": A Scam Not a Fact

There's a rule of thumb that goes like this: a rising tide raises all ships.

And sinks all harbors...

Where I live, union jobs may not have raised wages for everybody else, but it's kept local unemployment low. The union workers (who are mostly Chrysler but used to be that and Delco) are known for loving their toys and being big spenders. There are actually a ton of restaurants and fast food joints in the city, and many union workers here make up a good part of the daily/routine customers for many of those places.
But, it also does kind of suck because the town pretty much exist to serve Chrysler workers, because not that many people who don't work there make enough to frivolously spend, and outside of Chrysler those with money tend to not live here.

Back in 1967, I worked for Chrysler at the old Dodge Main plant in the Detroit area. Not a bad place to work, but racial tensions ran very high at that time whereas one elderly black worker walked me out to my car on some nights to protect me because there were so many fights. Fortunately, those days are long gone, but I was always appreciative of his caring.

Without the unions, the "harbors" would be too shallow for Average Joe & Jane to sail into.

Republicans hate unions because that's the corporate agenda. Corporations don't like workers having rights. You'll never hear a conservative complain about police unions though. Hahaha....let's use some logic people. I'm in the middle class, I have no business voting republican.
