Namaste,
The scriptwriters did well also in pointing out that science and religion need not always conflict.
The bit about Howard immediately taking Raj's use of the word "temple" to mean a Jewish one provoked a smile,
as it reminded me that not only is there not exactly a mandir on every corner in the US, we tend not to be
particularly socially boisterous or talkative concerning our religious practices in general- and in a land which has had no
shortage of those who do proselytize (and have, within their own houses of worship, derided Hinduism as superstitious,
primitive and idolatrous at best, and actually refer to our deities as demonic at worst), we have often found it
best to quietly buy some property for a mandir when we can, engage in some local charitable seva, and otherwise keep to ourselves.
