The Pot Noodles got me thinking about good old Ramen Noodles. So, tell me something...

Do you prepare Ramen Noodles as recommended or do you doctor them up?

Here is a few things I have done:

Add corn

Add peas

Add cheese

Add sliced hot dogs

Add cheese, spinach, and chunks of chicken (now that was dang good)

I have plans to try working some ground beef and maybe some gravy in the mix too.

So...what ramen recipes have you come up with???

I don't use the flavorings... and I also don't like the noodles too done either, still crunchy is delicious!

I sometimes have put mushrooms, peas, and potatoes in mine. Sometimes just mushrooms. and of course sometimes I just eat them as-is. I only eat the chicken flavoured ones though. I don't eat any gross beef or shrimp flavoured or any of those other crazy flavours. I'm rather choosy in what I eat. I will barely even eat chicken and turkey. I'm very choosy about meats/meat flavoured stuff. I will sometimes eat a roast beef sammich from arby's, and will eat hamburgers only from Steak n' shake and mc donalds, and even that's only sometimes.

Ramen noodles. Yummeh.

Ramen is great as is, but I have been known to put in chicken, ham, mushrooms, turkey, or whatever else I can think of. My favorite is Beef and Pork.

You can have your beef & lamb,
turkey, chicken, pork & ham.
But you can't beat
a Viking's meat
coming in that squarish can.

I like to prepare Ramen this way..

Add two packages noodles water and 1 packett seasoning with

chopped onion
chopped garlic
(frozen peas, frozen corn, thin sliced carrot, thin sliced celery)
1 raw egg

Mix it all together well and cook for 3 minutes on high in microwave
Take out remix and add a small amount of cheese
Replace in microwave and cook for two to three more minutes.

For a big dinner for the whole family, something I do is this.

8 packages Raman placed in large skillett and small amount of water.

I cook it on med high and stir constantly until noodles are moistened

I then add my chopped vegetables and about 4 packages of season mix and thoruoghly mix it all together.

I then add about 6 eggs and fry the noodles and eggs together stiring and mixing constantly.

At this point I taste it and often add another season packett or two to get the flavor right.

By now it is a pretty dry noodle mixture and I add a few thin slices of cheese and melt it over the top. Voila Dinner for 7 in about 15 minutes.

Another good way, especially for camping or cooking on a wood stove and what not is.

Brown up some meat and set aside.

Cook noodles in water in the pan with the left over meat oils

Throw meat in with noodles and add a can of "cream of mushroom soup"

Very quick, very easy and very very good. We have a lot of time each winter without electricity due to power lines going down, so we perfected this one on our woodstove.

I have a wonderful, greasy recipe I'll have to dig up. It's a cold ramen salad with mayo, tiny salad shrimp, green onions, and chopped celery. So high fat, so good.

Twilight Hue

Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.
Sometimes in addition to the seasoning packet (Chicken) I will add tuna, peas, and mayo of which I then prepare as a quick casserole.
