rating threads

I noticed that not many of yall rate threads on here. I rate them often and sometimes even if I don't post on them. I do so because I see it as a tool for communicating. Just like I see ones religion and take that into perspective on their posts, as well as their believs in others areas such as politics and such....by rating threads it lets us see how the forum as a community percieves the topic and context of that topic and it adds to the information presented in the posts...

anybody else rate threads and if so why? If you don't and don't see value in it just for my curiosity why?

I don't usually rate the threads, because quite frankly, I forget the feature is there.... and I'm usually too busy looking at other things to remember it.

I don't rate threads pretty much for the same reasons that Maize doesn't rate threads. The feature has got to be among the most overlooked features on the board. But I think, Robtex, that if we all started using it, the average rating would be a pretty accurate indication of comparably how interesting the thread was.

I didn't think to look.:banghead3 Now, I have one more distraction when I lurk here. I can see if there's a correlation between thread ranking and frubal accumulation.:D

I have noticed the 'rating' box, but wonder how it 'works' - ie if I rate a thread a 1/5, and somone else rates it as 3/5, does that then mean that the rating becomes 2/5 ?:)

The only times I really rate threads are if I think a thread has been unfairly rated by one person or the particular poster has been really rude in their OP. ;)

I tend to forget about ratings too. I figure most threads are deserving of a great rating anyway!
