trying to live like Jesus, following his example, trusting God, caring for others. That's one of the short answers

Hmm... There are several kinds of Christian. There are those who claim to be Christian, but really could care less what Jesus teaches. There are those who are actually striving to become like him and follow him. Then there are those who are so full of light that they radiate the Love of Jesus Christ. They have his image engraved on their countenances. These are what I would call authentic Christians. When you look at them, and you see the light of Christ in their eyes, and the way they live their lives, you know that God exists.

MARK 16,17+18 is the proof you are looking for.
BELIEVING THAT ONESELF IS CHRISTIAN doesn't make it so.
That's much like saying satan claus is a really good guy who loves
all the good little children.

The problem with this is, you have to believe the bible to believe that Mark 16:17-18 are valid. If you believe the new testament of the bible, you're probably a Christian. So that makes this no different than "BELIEVING THAT ONESELF IS CHRISTIAN".

I would argue that there's nothing wrong with self-labeling, in this case. Who can really tell you you're Christian or not? Who knows your heart better than you do?
