Receiving & Giving in Magick, Majik, Magic (life)

So, I was reading this beautiful blog and I had a realisation, which parallels to life, when I am doing workings, I usually always am 'giving' energy, not so much of a habbit to 'take' energy.
Even if I am in a public place I am still in the habit of radiating my energy and taking little, because the quality is usually low and my filtering skills need improving.

Any thoughts on how you Work?
do you balance giving/receiving?
Any tips on how to get comfortable with 'taking',/or 'receiving'?

I was thinking I am going to start to try and 'take' energy from the 'earth' to help me ground .... and the more i practice the more I can receive rather then transmute energy felt.... hmmmm
any experience with this? (have done root meditations, & earth star)
I also have this chant

”I am grounded, calm and steady

my roots are planted, at the ready

My mind is centered, flowing still,

it tastes the world I bend at will

My magick pulses like the sea,

from the earth and into me.”

that I have used a couple times, I am going to take with me when I do this

the only time I really receive is if a human is radiating love towards me, that is my fav, but that is not enough to balance me as that is few and far inbetween.

YAY this actually feels like a big step for me, I have 'realized' I do this, but it is a deeper 'realization' time to PRACTICE ^.^

Just had a good go at taking from earth and got this message.

"This is for you, my child
may your desires be free, run wild,
my essence in your flowing hair,
