Regarding other religions and philosophies

What is your religion's attitude towards other religions and philosophies? Do you accept them as legitimate spiritual paths? Does your religion or church believe is it the "one and only true" path to "God" and all others are wrong?

UU's believe there is wisdom in most, if not all, of the world's religions. That each is valuable for what it can tell us about ourselves and our world, and how its members find religious meaning and direction. We do not regard UUism as the only way, in fact we acknowledge that our religion is not for everyone and encourage people to find the path that is right for them.

I believe all religions and thoughts have truth, some more than others. But if used in the correct way, and understood enough, any religion can lead to enlightenment.

I respect people of other religions and respect their beliefs, even if I don't agree. Many religions have very much to offer...Religion should be about a search for the truth and inner peace. It becomes a problem for me when people stray from these ideals and 'persecute' those around them in the name of their god, or when people refuse to be open-minded.
