Regressive policies and hateful rhetoric by Trump, Putin and Xi undermining rights globally

World leaders abandoning human rights: Amnesty

US President Donald Trump, Russian leader Vladimir Putin, and China's President Xi Jinpingwere among a number of politicians who rolled out regressive policies in 2017, according to Amnesty International's annual human rights report published on Thursday.

The human rights body also mentioned the leaders of Egypt, the Philippines and Venezuela.

I am not in the least bit surprised to see Donald Trump, Russia and China on the list of human rights violators. All three are brutal dictators who take joy in massacring innocent people and minorities. They are propelled to power by hatred, and render hatred in return.

I'm also ashamed to see that Philippines is on the list thanks to the scumbag Duterte we have in office.

I'm not either, because the terrorist media Al-Jazerra and Soros work together to screw everyone. :D Regardless, the funny part is that other Muslim nations will not take people from the countries that Trump has placed travel bans on. Yet, he's the bad guy...

The funny part is the "Regressive" label, which is usually applied to people like this very news outlet who are in the business of subverting western culture. I'll clear it up for you though, if drugs are running through your country, you are being flooded by terrible hate-filled refugees, and so on your quality of life will turn to total crap if you leave that unchecked. Moreover, it's a complete stretch to attempt to draw some equivalence to anything these other countries are doing and Venezuela.

I guess truth, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder.

There is some truth to what the OP stated.
For example I don't agree with Trump's desire to ban Transgender folks, or his attacks in Syria.

I suppose "innocent" is in the eye of the beholder.

My wife, currently visiting the Philippines atm, says the place in much nicer now than a few years ago. While I don't personally agree with killing people outright, you can't exactly say they were innocent.

I'm just of the mind and realization that many times government officials have to make decisions that are tough or unpopular for the ultimate good of their country. We only have to examine Sweden or France to know that bringing the refugees is no good, regardless of how immoral or cruel that seems, it is far worse to import harm into your country when you already know the outcome it is nearly a treasonous act. I don't know very much about the Philippines situation personally, I just distrust their presentation of that because of the other assertions in the article.

Some folks, like drug dealers, make bad life choices which is unfortunate but they made those choices so certainly have to take some of the blame for the results.

Why should folks who try to obey the laws and lead productive lives have to be made to pay for those choices.

Such a sad mindset.
Always a shame to blame our ills on some perceived bad guy waiting to get us.
This fear is what fuels many politicians. Hitler and Trump come to mind.
Notice however, Roosevelt said nothing to fear but fear itself.
He understood what makes a prosperous nation. Love, charity, kindness, mercy.
Fear and hate have no place in the hearts of good leaders, only evil ones.

In this case, a known and self-declared enemy. And no, I don't merely include "terrorist organizations" in that since nearly the whole of non-westernized Islam harbors those views. It is not my duty to atone for their poor actions, only to realize them and support what is needed to minimize the damage they cause. That's not exactly in the vein of wishing them direct harm either, I feel that they have the right to their views whether or not they coincide with mine or not. They could preach peace, tolerance, and love instead of jihad. The blame lays not on the persons tasked to clean up the mess or the people supporting them, but the people making it.

There are more than a billion Muslims, and the jihadists are numbered in the 1000’s.
There is far more evil done to far more people in this country by evangelical and fundamentalist Christians. The evil will continue for decades now considering the Trump is appointing so many federal judges who have the same backward mindset he has.
There has been a great amount if violence and persecution AGAINST many Muslims for a long time, and it still continues.
I would like to think that I would not resort to violence in their shoes, but people can only be pushed around so much.
