We all get frazzled.

What are some things you do when you're stressed, and needing to unwind?

For me it varies.

There are times I will yank at weeds with all my strength rather than dig them out to turn my emotional charge into physical activity. Sometimes it's petting or playing tug with our furry golden girl. Sometimes trying to lose myself in a book (science fantasy). Rarely these days I remember the wise words of a therapist I was interning with decades ago when he said "you can *stand* it" (meaning it sucks and is terrible but you have the strength you need.) Sometimes I reflect that it's my karma and I should learn whatever lesson I need to. Sometimes it's reflecting on how much worse other people's issues are.

In other words, I have a lot of "tools" in my toolchest to use when and as needed.

I bought her a punching bag, but she complained it didn't move or cry when hit. She just got up, (poor sleep). When she says she didn't sleep, I feel like another trip to Mike's.
Yeah, that's a valid complaint. Poor Boss.

Yeah, she's really poor all right.

Now for the serious bit. These days I rarely get frazzled. We are older and the kids are out of the house, and I do some serious sadhana on not getting frazzled. Yes I have mild annoyances occasionally, but they don't last long. Back when I did get frazzled, (teaching, and 5 kids at home) I generally did something physical like play catch with a son, or take them to the nearest playground. I really found the commute (about 20 minutes) to be therapy, as I worked on dropping one world, and preparing for the next one. But some days I'd enter a crazy home where one of the kids had gotten into trouble at school, Boss would complain to me about it, and I wasn't at all prepared. On those days I'd overreact, or go for a walk until I felt more capable of dealing with it. I also did a few stupid things at those times I regretted doing for a long time, and only through the grace of Ganesha have they been at least partially resolved. Best wishes on both manifesting less frazzle, and sanely dealing with it when it does happen.

Walk in the forest.
Stop at a favourite spot, pull up a handy log and sit for a while, some would call this meditation. I call it unwinding.

Or like at the moment when it's cold and wet, sit on the settee and watch the flames of the roaring fire. Though not frazzled at the moment

And of course...

Have a ****.
