Religious quackery

““For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways,
declares the Lord.
9 “As the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts.”
Isaiah 55:8-9

In other words if you’ll just surrender your minds to the primitives who arrogantly considered God’s way to be their way the trees of the field will start magically clapping hands they don’t even have.

It is religious quackery.

I'm not quite sure why you pick on these verses. Surely all they express is the idea that the ways of thinking and acting of a supreme being could be very different from the way human beings think and act.

Or if anyone ever claims to know what "God" wants or feel then they, too, fall under your definition of religious quackery.

Mainly because they are typically used in my experience to defend quackery. Got a religious belief that defies or is contrary to reason? Just toss in a reference to Isaiah 55 at the end of it and you are good to go.

But what does this passage say about the bit where man is in 'the image of god,' where people say that we are his coequals in terms of the qualities of consciousness. If his thoughts and ways are better than ours, then that can't be the 'image' that we share with him.

My criticism is directed at those who have gone around claiming others are capable of no good, practicers of deceit etc because they don’t follow some peculiar unreasonable dogma. People who merely claim to know what’s right for them aren’t a problem.

I see. I had not come across that. So you mean a sort of get-out-of-jail-free card to play, on the basis that God does not reason like man? I must look out for that one. Thanks for the tip.;)

That is a really bizarre interpretation.

Ahhh..The ‘Land of Daniel’ speaks of himself very clear...but does not know He himself..and that is my friend, very clear.

If your going to interpret scriptures...know that there is an ORDER to it. In other words: Place its numbers..b4 the scriptures speaks its story. You see the numbers is what you have no idea of...it is an ORDER to a CONCEPT..and the concept is the title(the name);ISAIAH.

Now the numbers have deep meanings which you and your kind, do not know anything about em.

For instance! This scripture falls in ORDER from the number [8]....than ends with the no [9].

8..is an expression of a...DEVELOPMENT.

9..is the act to its....DEVELOPMENT.

EVERYTHING MUST BE IN ORDER...
Without knowing your numbers and their meanings..the scriptures will be without its truth..becoming a lie. But lies are not all so bad...in the end, the truth will be [GOD].

The WORD of GOD.

[8] “For my thoughts are not your thoughts,

-My (choices) are not made the same of your choices.

neither are your ways my ways,

-So be(choices) of in your own ways that were not to be of in mine.

declares the Lord.

I AM.

[9] “As the heavens are higher than the earth,

-I AM from the Heavens, and not, for Who your being of the earth(Living).

so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts.”

# you now judge(choice) this part on your own.But with still your foolishness.

Nothing my eye, Something for sure
So mountains will move, and the waters will part for those who do God's will?

The question becomes what is God's will, and how do finite beings come to realize it?

On the surface it sounds like blind trust. Placing God's will above having to reason and justify our positions with proof and evidence.

There are those who claim God's will and expect everyone to just move out of the way then?

Or perhaps God's will is revealed to those who seek and have faith. And the people who don't seek and don't have faith will never know it until they do.

So the believer claims it because it's in a book, and they are convinced by the book. And those not convinced by the book are nothing but infidels that will eventually fall, or be moved out of the way.

Often the Bible is used to justify any actions whatsoever a believer wants to do.

The prosperity gospel vs. the save souls gospel vs. the save only the people I favor gospel.

Clearly the book draws a line between enemies and friends for the believer.

Love your enemies , pray for those who persecute you. God's will is all mankind be saved it says.

So who are the real Christians? Who are the fake ones?

And why does a book written by ancient sand dwellers bear any significance to today?

There are tons of different gospels emanating from the book. So which one is literally it?

They would have to be those who live modestly, not of great wealth, they work with their hands, humility, and charity. They preach and teach, they shake the dust from their feet towards those who reject their message. They bear the fruits of the spirit; patience, long-suffering, etc.
They forfeit the worldly life, to store all their treasures with God, and so forth.

One thing I have learned is that many people live their own version of what it says. And I am not quite sure that it does have a clear message.
