Is there anything I can really offer the religious debates section? I mean I know ZILCH about religion. I try to read posts that are like heaps long, like t3gah's or that oracle's, and I think WTF are they going on about? I look at Deut's and I think, nothing I say will be that impressive(not meant as anything bad). Even if I try to learn what they are saying i STILL do not know who is correct..then what I am trying to say never comes out the way I want it and sounds off topic, and I don't want to.

To tell you the truth, I do not know WHY I came here. Religion? I know about as much of that as a polar bear knows the desert.

Duck and cover Soul. You are just asking to be converted now . Besides you know plenty about religion as a lot of your posts show. Just remember that the Bible, for example, is a massive book so studying just one part of it means that, quite often, you will know nothing about that one part. Doesn't mean you don't know anything about religion though. It just means you don't have an incredibly indepth knowledge of the Bible. Also keep in mind that it is very easy to click on the search the Bible link, type in a keyword, and make it look like you know exactly what the Bible says on a certain topic.

Also keep in mind that it is very easy to click on the search the Bible link, type in a keyword, and make it look like you know exactly what the Bible says on a certain topic.

lol I didnt say ALL your posts . I rarely debate from a religious point of view because I don't belong to a religion. That doesn't mean I can't annoy people with my opinions though .

Of course I don't mean to imply that anyone HERE would do such a thing . Nah I just find it a bit overwhelming when I see a post full of Bible quotations all of which seem to say roughly the same thing but in a slightly different way. You might as well just give one passage to back up your argument than a string from the same source. Just my view though!

lol @ Fluffster . But what is religious knowledge? How could an atheist talk in a debate then? Surely they would mostly use logic and reason. Isn't this a form of religious knowledge which everyone has?

Yeah okay it is one of those fine line thingies but there is a difference between not quoting the Bible out of context and quoting fifty percent of the whole thing.

I just joined and already Ive learned alot. try religioustolerance.org. they have non-biased descriptions of the beliefs and practices of all religions known. there are also some tests out there that could help in your desision, but i wouldnt reccomend relying on them.

Well, you do know some . And as for contributing...I think you already have. Posting some of the threads you've posted already contributed.

Now, when it comes to "how?" You've done fine in your own way IMO. Simply read and post. When you see a flaw, and insight, or a way to support someone/some view, then post. I think that's what a lot of us do.
