Remember the Mueller Report? Are you ready for the upcoming "Smith Report"?

Jack Smith is going to be issuing a report, soon (weeks), and I expect Garland will make it public. This will of course happen before Trump is sworn in.

Are you ready for the "Smith Report"? (I don't know if it will be called that). Will you read it? Will it matter?

I've not heard a confirmation that a report will be written and issued. I hope it is to justify the work they did do. I heard a right wing pundit say that Smith will be targeted and brought to justice once Trump is back in office. It will be interesting to see what the DOJ attempts to do that will be an abuse of the justice department. Will members of congress go along with it or stand up to tyranny.

As I write this I'm watching a documentary called Remembering Anne Frank. Anne's father was an officer in the German army during WW1, and 20 years later his nation would murder him and his family for being Jewish.

Does American society allow the targeting of innocent people by the Trump administration only for the duty to bring a criminal to justice? Or do we stand up against tyranny? None of us should tolerate the corruption that Trump has promised.

I kind of thought you were going to say the Agent Smith report.

Will it matter? Will it affect anything? There's potentially a pedophile drug user being sworn in as Attorney General, and Mike Johnston doesn't want the investigation made public. No one seems to find that odd. Both sides have already made up their mind, and nothing is going to change it. Unless the Smith report includes photos of Trump snorting coke off of Putin's naked keester, it will be a giant nothing burger. The American people have had 8 years to see what Trump is, and they elected him. He's the President, and what he's doing is exactly what he said he would do.

It won't matter for irrational people who have been duped and manipulated by the criminal president elect and his media disinformation, but it will matter to the well informed and rational citizen who will cite the report's finding to those who don't care about a stable nation, democracy, and a stable economy. The MAGA voter will realize that they made a huge mistake at some point. There's an estimated 75% chance of a recession with Trump's plan. So far his chaos agents have had a big shock to many. His judgment is extremely poor, and he's not going to have a successful term. It's already being heavily criticized and it's two months away.

There's a coalition of governors who are making their states protected against Trump's ideas, and I ouldn't be surprized if some republican governors join them. This report can be used by governors to make the case against Trump and create an ethical stand at state borders.

....because the states have shown such a propensity to be rational. Look, 51% of the public listened to Trump and Musk and RFK Jr and Bobert and Green and Gaetz and Johnson and said "Yes". Or, I suppose, "Si", as the case is. They are about to get a drive in the car they bought, and with the trifecta on the house-senate-president finish, there is a really fine chance that there will not be a set of house elections in 2026. The Yanks are about to find out what their vote was really for. Considering that, do you think that the previously referenced 51% is about to blink because a prosecutor, who was already prosecuting a 34-time convicted felon, says "I think that guy was dirty"?

You could be right. But if Trump tries to cancel the 2026 elections he's going to find himself very lonely, because even republicans will realize this will cause a collapse of the US government. Since states run elections they will carry on with the law. What could the federal government do except hold back money?

Look how far voters went because they believed Trump will support freedom. Do you really think they will stand for not having the freedom to vote?

If they have full bellies? Yes, I believe they would stand for it. They just voted for Trump to show the Democrats they're unhappy with how Biden/Harris handle the Gaza war. Huckabee will fix that, right? They voted for Trump because they were unhappy with how immigration was handled by Biden/Harris. That will get better, right? They're morons who routinely vote against their own best interests so they can have what they see as the American Dream. Money, and a full belly. If they feel like they're making bank, and all they have to do is give up voting (over 1/3 of them didn't bother to vote in the first place), they'll give up voting.

I find it odd who is it?

Trump will be 80 in 2026. We are probably looking at a Vance administration in the not too distant future, and he may be more serious about hamstringing democratic traditions in the US.
