Policemen are not all perfect, but this cop comes close to winning the ingenuity award.

A driver did the right thing, stopping at the crosswalk even though he could have beaten the red light by accelerating through the intersection.

The tailgating woman behind him went ballistic, pounding on her horn and screaming in frustration as she missed her chance to drive through the intersection with him. Still in mid-rant, she heard a tap on her window and looked up into the face of a very serious police officer.

The officer ordered her to exit her car with her hands up. He took her to the police station where she was searched, fingerprinted, photographed, and placed in a cell. After a couple of hours, a policeman approached the cell and opened the door. She was escorted back to the booking desk where the arresting officer was waiting with her personal effects. He said, "I'm awfully sorry for this mistake. You see, I pulled up behind your car while you were blowing you horn, flipping the guy off in front of you, and cussing a blue streak at him. I noticed the "Choose Life" license plate holder, the "What Would Jesus Do?"
bumper sticker, the "Follow Me to Sunday School" bumper sticker, and the chrome-plated Christian fish emblem on the trunk. Naturally, I assumed you had stolen the car."

That is really sad - but full marks to the policeman. I hope she has learned a lesson.:)

That is hilarious! :biglaugh:

I have bumber stickers all over the back of my car, but I use to have one of those license plate frames on the back plate. If any of you have one you know that they can cover a bit of the county on your plate but it is still readable. I once got pulled over by a cop for it. I wasn't doing anything wrong driving...he even said he pulled me over for the frame...which many people have...and told me I had to remove it because it covers part of the county! I think he was just in a bad mood and didn't like what it said. "TGIF ... Thank Goodness I'm Female"!!:D

In Texas, if the license plate frame covers part of the state name, you can receive a ticket. This has caused hasty redesign of the auto dealer frames on so many new cars.......

And in Texas, at least in the Houston area, you have to have a license plate on the front and back of your car.

I was amazed by this when my (then) boyfriend came up from Houston to visit me in Pennsylvania.

!

~Jamaesi, easily amused

That's all of Texas. It helps when you are trying to catch a plate number of someone who has done something illegal, or so the thinking goes.......

I Iowa you are to have a plate on front and back as well, that doesn't keep me from having my front plate in my passenger side door pocket though :p It came off about a year ago in a snow storm when the front of my car got stuck in a snow drift and I just put it in the pocket and it has been there ever since...no police have said anything about it ...yet...knock on wood.

I must say, I am not an advocate of bumper and other stickers on a car - it only tempts others to come too close to be able to read them.:jam:
