Replacing God with government

If people look to government for answers to life’s problems, for money, for their needs to be met, then I think they are looking to government as their god.
That's an exceptionally poor analysis. Governments exist to manage the various interests of diverse people, groups, and businesses. They also help resolve problems which can cause disruption and instability.

Let's note that there are no Gods that help anyone. If there were we humans wouldn't have to solve our many problems.
A government which has people totally dependent upon them can easily cross over into becoming tyrannical.
Well it's a good thing that's not the USA. Where do you see this happening? Saudi Arabia? As I understand it all citizens get money from the government due to the massive oil sales. Maybe that's your gripe. Of course they gave Jared Kuschner $2 billion to invest, so the Trump family is involved with this system that you dislike.

I think this says more about you than the people you describe. Sounds like you just can't relate to other worldviews except through your paradigm.

People who don't believe in any gods aren't looking to anything as their "god."

Although, I believe the biblical God is the Creator, I am not advocating for a particular God. Rather, I am saying if people don’t acknowledge a higher power or authority the danger is in loo to government or allowing government to become too big or controlling in their lives.
I get that. What is the best way to get certain needs met that a higher power could do instead of government? I guess I don't understand what things could be solved by a higher power.
