My friend, I suggest that you first visit Canadian Alternative at www.canadianalternative.com. Their goal is to provide useful information on how to settle in Canada, what life is like there, and why Canadians love it so much (who wouldn’t love guaranteed basic free health care coverage!) Then visit the Lesbian and Gay Immigration Taskforce (LEGIT) at www.legit.ca. LEGIT is a national advocacy lobby group that is doing great work helping same-sex partners into Canada. And finally, for reliable information on your job search, visit Human Resources and Skills Development Canada at www.hrsdc.gc.ca. HRSDC is the government agency dedicated to Canadian employment and related issues. Two other great resource centers serving the active LGBT community in the beautiful city of Toronto are the 519 Church Street Community Centre (www.the519.org) and Gay West Community Network (www.gaywest.905host.net) Have no fear, Canada is near!

On September 24 Nova Scotia became the sixth province in Canada with legal marriage for same-gender couples, joining British Columbia, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec, and the Yukon.

Canada is looking more and more attractive... do you know if college is expensive in Canada? I'm honestly considering moving there as soon as I get up enough money to drive there and have a bit to fall back on if I can't find a job right away.

(Ottawa — November 24, 2004) Nearly two-thirds of Canadians say university and college tuition is too high and want the federal government to do more to make education more affordable, according to a national public opinion survey released by the Canadian Association of University Teachers (CAUT).

A .pdf file is entitled Chapter 5, Tuition Fees
http://www.copse.mb.ca/en/documents/statistics/Chapter_5.pdf

Of the colleges listed on page 5 of the document it ranged from $1,272 - 1310 (Canadian) in Manitoba

From a Google summary "... Tuition fees at private four-year colleges and universities in Canada range from about $2,800 to $5,700.", $1,994 - $18,476 (per year). ..." http://hypertextbook.com/facts/2004/ChrisanaWhite.shtml

Thank you very much for the information, pah. It's honestly a big help to me.:) I can't get the last website to load for some reason, though. Might just be my dialup being odd again.

I love Canada :). England is great too... we are much more racist over here though unfortunately. Less chilly though.
