Retro original Xbox gamers. YESSS!!!!!!!!!

Twilight Hue

Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.

Xbox One the first system to cover all games spanning the three consoles.

For all the negativity over the years, I give Microsoft and the Xbox team a big thumbs up and kudos for bringing back to life Retro Gaming. It's so refreshing to revisit those games again and add a graphical and framerate upgrade to boot!

My biggest original Xbox wish list right now is

Operation Flashpoint Elite

The original Max Payne

Of course, the Doom and Quake series

Midtown Madness 3

Star Wars Battlefront 1 and 2

Full spectrum warrior

Ghost Recon Island Thunder

Lord of the Rings, The Fellowship of the Ring

Star Wars the Clone Wars and mace Griffin the Bounty Hunter

Total overdose

Mercenaries

Probably a couple more that I haven't thought of yet.

Anyways I'm so happy to see Crimson Sky out and KOTOR.

In fact, I'm downloading them right now.

Retro Paradise!!!!!!

My old XBox outlived every 360 I had, and is still going strong. Plus the benefit of it being modded is I can make back ups of my games, and don't have to worry so much if the originals are scratched beyond usability or broken (I've lost a few, such as KOTOR, due to unfortunate cracks in the discs).
I do have to say though, it was dumb for Sony to have crap backwards compatibility on the PS3 and none on 4, and it's made worse knowing the fact they can indeed run those games, it's just a mater of software/firmware modification to make them work.

It's cute that the original Xbox is considered retro now!

Maybe it's just because I am old fart. My first gaming system was an Atari 2600, then on to the NES, then SNES, N64, Sega Saturn, Sega Dreamcast, PS1, PS2, PC for a number of years when I moved to Everquest ,WoW and Steam gaming, then back to console PS3, Xbox 360, PS4, and I just preordered the Nintendo Switch with Odyssey bundle which should be here next week!

Anyways retro to me is Atari and NES games. Recently I fell back in love with the Angry Video Game Nerd on YouTube as he reviews all the crappy retro games!

Yeah. To me, retro is cartridge, not disc.

DOOM has already been done. Doom 3: BFG Edition is backwards compatible, and has Doom, Doom II, Doom III, and the expansion to Doom III that I forget.

I'm hoping for Star Wars: Clone Commandos!
I was talking about the Xbox Originals now playable on Xbox One.

I thought NG Doom was okay, it kept some of the old style of gameplay but it didn't quite catch up to its original flavor.

I wasn't aware about any backward compatibility on
Doom. The original Xbox version plays on my 360 but not the Xbox One at least for now. It's not listed on the playlist.

I think a lot of us are hoping for the original Star Wars Battlefront games. Both one and two.

Oh, not the Xbox version. I don't imagine they'll include it, because the Doom III: BFG (which was an Xbox 360 remastered of the Xbox Doom) is backwards compatible. But it has all the original games with their original gameplay and such.

I think I do remember seeing it in the 360 backwards compatible section I almost forgot. I'll have to check now. I just have the original Xbox games of Doom.

I'm still hoping for Operation Flashpoint Elite. It's nothing like Dragon Rising or Red River which were okay games but a shell to what the original Operation Flashpoint Elite contained.

Sadly the rift between Codemasters and Bohemia Interactive, I'm not getting my hopes too high up though I'm still crossing my fingers. I still play it on my old Xbox system though. I've been surprised before.

I mean they already put Operation Flashpoint on the backwards compatible section for 360 games. There's a small chance in my mind anyways they may possibly put operation Flashpoint Elite from original Xbox One on the list.

To date, there's been no epic Tactical Sims on any of the consoles since Xbox One that the original operation Flashpoint series brought to the table. ARMA 2 has been scrapped by Bohemia There's been some squad-based tactical games, but not joint operations.

Operation Flashpoint Elite would be well received by a good deal of niche players for which the game has a tremendous cult following that is itching for a full fledged Arma game with game editor.

Operation Flashpoint Elite has all of that on Xbox One but never made it on backwards compatibility lists in spite of endless requests to do so by a lot of people
