RF Coin Lottery!!!

Druidus

Keeper of the Grove
I just came up with this idea, which I hope is tasteful, and not in any way wrong. I've chosen a four digit number. Whoever guesses the closest to the number gets a prize! The cost to play the game is 50 coins (although if you are really hardpressed for coins, I'll let you play anyway, because I'm cool that way, lol. ;)), however, almost all of the money will be going to the winners.

1st Prize: 250 Coins!!!
2nd Prize: 150 Coins!!
3rd Prize: 75 Coins!

All of the prizes may go up depending on the amount of entries I get, but that is the baseline, they get no lower then that, so I'll probably be digging out of my own pockets for this, but oh well, it's in the name of fun! Post your guesses here, the number of digits is four (you only have to be the closest, not the exact number).

To get an entry, just go to the store, and donate 50 coins to me, with a little signature saying it's for the lottery. Tomorrow, when I check the numbers against mine, I'll donate the prize money to the winners! Good luck everyone!

I love it!

If we're not in need of coins, can we simply donate coins to you so that the 'winners' will have more to split, or to sponsor those that might like to play but don't have the coins? (Just so you don't go broke from generosity! :) )

Sure Feathers, I don't see any problem with that! I hope a good number of people sign up for this though.

You wouldn't be Canadian by any chance , would you Druidus ? ;)

Just teasing . Although with keno in every corner store , a casino in every little town , and countless members of lotteries , in this province .... well , you see my point . :)

Have fun eh . :)

If you want to, yes! That would increase the prize money greatly, hopefully geting more people to join it. So far, no one has...

Ok I will donate to you and you can do what you will with them..A group activity is better than a silly glowing username.

Heheel, poor Druidus! He's hoping for people for the contest, but he's getting donatations for the contest instead! (Thanks for the kind mention!)

C'mon, guys, the lottery is growing! (And I don't mean the macabre short story by... wait, that was supposed to be a semi-witty reference, and I've gone and forgotten the authors' name.) Someone sign up! *is willing to beg!*

Off topic, but the author would be Shirley Jackson, Feathers. What a great story.

I don’t quite understand the frubals yet but I hope my frubals are being kept warm in an oven. The thought of having shribbled frubals scares me.

Oooo... as a new member, you would be perfect for this! You should guess a number! (Just suggesting, you don't have to do it! :))

Coins are a bit different from frubals. Coins you get by making posts, reading posts, and just generally hanging around the forums. You can either keep 'em warm in your pocket, or deposit them in the "bank", where they will gain interest. (At the very top, there is a 'store' link, should you want that option.) You can spend them on various things, such as a colored username or a customized title. *hugs hers happily* You can also donate them to other RF members, using the "donate" link.

Frubals (sometimes called 'karma') can be gained by a different method. These come from when another RF member likes a post you've made (It's insightful, witty, courageous, thought-provoking... or they just felt like handing out frubals). When you check under your User CP, you can find a list of frubals donated to you, usually with a note attached. (I like to 'sign' mine, because the person recieving it wouldn't know who it's from, otherwise. They're anonymous.)
