Right or wrong religion?

Muffled

Jesus in me
You are absolutely right. It is due to the fact that we are all genetically different so have different qualities (gunas in Hinduism). So people chose their own religions to suit their mentality. There is no ''right'' religion for everybody. That is why there should be complete freedom to choose one's religion.

I believe if you religion is based on what color carpet is in your church then you can choose one with a carpet the color you like. However that is ancillary stuff that does not matter.

Muffled

Jesus in me
From an objective standpoint and in a simplistic fashion there is either:
  • One God
  • A Pantheon
  • No God/s
These are mutually exclusive and only one can be correct. How one worships isn't the issue necessarily, but wittling it to 'whatever works for you' is, in my opinion, feel-good rubbish.

I believe just because a person feels good about the idea that there are no gods does not make it true.

I believe If you are i na building with many doors but only one leads to your doctors office then there is only one right door.

I believe that is also true for eternal life. Only one door leads there and that is Jesus.

As long you follow the teaching of Jesus you follow a path that can lead to truth for you yes, but as a buddhist i believe there is more then one way to the answers. so even christianity is right, buddhism is correct too, just thought in a different way

But what if the office is outside the building? Then it seems to choose any exit door should lead you outside to where God is.

The problem with religion is that they put God inside a box, or inside an office in your example. The Reality of it is, that God is outside of all religions. God doesn't have a religion. So, to me, stepping outside the religion, would seem the way to go. Don't you think?

Or is it better to keep God safe and sound inside the box we stuff him into to make us feel safer, than stepping outside the box of walls we live in to the great outdoors where God is found, beyond our walls? That to me is the choice. A sense of security, or Truth?

It's a little softer than the word God. :) It has a whole lot less baggage.

To me God and the Divine Reality are the same, just different words. A lot of people hear "God" and think of a "person" "up there" somewhere, literally, rather than simply as a figure of speech. The Divine in my use, is directly comparable to Emptiness in Buddhist thought, or Brahman in Hindu thought, or Godhead in Christian thought. The "Essence" of Reality, is the Divine. As the Buddhist might say,

form is emptiness, and emptiness is form.
Form is not other than emptiness, emptiness
is not other than form.

To label God as divine places attributes in him whereas He is Nirguna that is without attributes.

There is nothing that does not matter.

That is why you are bold enough to come to this Forum, but here you are up against the fact that Truth is the highest religion.

I dont think it is bold to just registrate in a online forum :)
And i accept that people see the truth different then i do :) But sometimes i do not shy away from a discussion, i might learn a thing or two you know :)

The only way to get to the truth is to keep exposing oneself to criticisms.

Yes, its lost, but christians need to refocus on the real goal

Thanks. IF God exists and is all powerful and righteous then God will kill evangelism; the only solution to get Christians back on track.
Evangelism is the cause/result of spiritual arrogance leading to worldly vices. Fortunately many countries nowadays prohibit proselytizing.

Good first step, BUT it would be much better if the Christians would realize it themselves, without being forced though.

It is not going to happen, it's part of their ideology to "spread the good news" among those who "have never heard the gospel".

You are right.

The first puzzle about religion is about the existence of a God. Or else a religion remains humans own manifest and thus can be ignored.

On the other hand, if a God exists then the next question is why He has to hide behind. A God is supposed to show up to lead the much more inferior humans. Even in the situation that this God doesn't care about humans, He has no reason to hide Himself from humans. Even as a human, you don't need to hide from the much more inferior beings which won't be able to harm you.

So the gods much provide a solid reason for them to hide behind instead of showing up. In Christianity, God has to hide behind because the final covenant between God and men says that "humans need to be saved by faith!" He can't show up publicly or humans cannot be saved.

If God exists as a being, why do you want Him to hide from you forever?

As a human being, do you always try your best to hide yourself from the cats?

As a human being, do you hide from the cats? What's the point of asking only the die hard cats to see you?
You are asking what God is like, Perhaps He does not want you to know Him except through humans who are living Gods.
