That was a riot, not a "coup" or a "siege". Government buildings, police stations and so on were vandalized and destroyed during the Floyd riots, but I don't see those being referred to with the same terms. Hmm.

What was the purpose of the George Floyd riots? To express anger towasr the mistreatent, once again, of a black mad at the hands of the police.
What was the purpose of the Jan 6th invasion of the US Capitol building? To disrupt and overturn the results of the 2020 election.
If you see these as equal, I suggest you study the Constitution.
