Rioting in London

I have just been reading about this incident. It would appear that strong feelings about immigrants were the main cause of rising tensions which spilled over into violence and robbery. Homes and businesses were attacked and looted.
Local authorities decided that a strong response was needed and large scale arrests and harsh sentencing was ordered.
I forgot to mention this was in 1517. There is is nothing new in this life it seems.
