That is, after all, the crucial question, here.michel said:Ah, but will they be able to make a decent cup of tea ?:sarcastic
there's always the possibility for them to break their social and personality inhibitors, thereby being able to do what they wish without any moral codes. This could be corrected by putting in a self-destruct sequence that triggers when this happens, but then again, the robots could probabaly delete this if they knew of it. If they ever became self-aware (or whatever term you like to use), it would be bad news. We should just have mindless robots. its much safer, me thinks.Druidus said:As long as robots are programmed to have appropriate and sensible morality codes; synonymous to what most humans (in the society the robots are in) have, it'll be fine.
That's just so sweet on so many levels.QTpi said:You can buy one now! Have you seen Roboraptor? It's a wireless remote-controlled raptor robot that stands 14 inches tall. Below is a link to National Geographic's site where they list information about it and have a QuickTime movie to view it in action. It has touch and sonic sensors. I might get one for my classroom!

I can remember when I was little and still in elemintary school, me and my friends would talk about and play with little toy robots, and pretend they could act like normal people. 13 years latter its starting to become reality. I wonder if scientist will ever make a transformer type robot?Remember the days when conversations like this were sci-fi and all conspiracy theory?
