It was on fire when I laid down on it.

So did I! There's a number of his songs that are just dynamite! His show was amazing! One of the few I've ever wanted to get up and dance...and believe me, that is something NO ONE wants to see happen...
:D

Your beloved eccentric Auntie Cristal
Jimi Hendrix - Purple Haze

Black Sabbath - Supernaut

Tool - Parabola

Led Zeppelin - Dazed and Confused

Dio - Rainbow in the Dark

Rush - Limelight

Ozzy Osbourne - Waiting for Darkness/Mr. Crowley (I'm torn there)

Blue Oyster Cult - Veteran of the Psychic Wars

Just a start. I might add more. And there could be repeats of bands and artists. So just a few.

By no means is this list complete, but here's a few selections I'm partial to:

For What It's Worth - Buffalo Springfield
Something in the Air - Thunderclap Newman
Burn Down the Mission - Elton John
Truckin' - The Grateful Dead
30 Days in the Hole - Humble Pie
Plastic Fantastic Lover - Jefferson Airplane
Wild Thing - Live at Monterey - Jimi Hendrix
The Confessor - Joe Walsh
Imagine - John Lennon
Louie Louie - The Kingsmen
Lola - The Kinks
The Rain Song - led Zeppelin
Thank You (Falettinme Be Mice Elf Again) - Sly and The Family Stone
Dirty Water - The Standells
Kid Charlegmagne - Steely Dan
Take the Money and Run - Steve Miller Band
Living For The City - Stevie Wonder
The Weight - The Band
The Low Spark Of High-Heeled Boys - Traffic

Also, there are concept albums which are best when listened to in their entirety, as opposed to just individual songs, such as

Pink Floyd - The Wall
Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon
Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here
Pink Floyd - Animals
Pink Floyd - The Final Cut
The Who - Tommy
The Who - Quadrophenia
King Crimson - In the Court of the Crimson King

If you listen to Rock music please list your favorite songs and yes please list more than one.
Not trying to break the character limit here, so just a few favourites from the top of my head:
Child in time - Deep Purple (and about anything else what Mark II did)
Bohemian Rhapsody - Queen (and anything else that didn't go too far into pop)
Kashmir - Led Zeppelin (mixed bag, like queen, hits and misses, about half of their work is excellent)
Dark Side of the Moon - Pink Floyd (yes that's an album, not a song, but it's a concept album, so, a total work of art, as are all albums before The Wall)
Sympathy for the Devil - Stones (and so many more, though my favourite album is more blues than rock - Beggar's Banquet)
Shadow Play - Rory Gallagher (another one I love for his blues as much as the rock)
Paradise by the Dashboard Light - Meatloaf (just eeking out Bat out of Hell and others)
Gates of Babylon - Rainbow (Ritchie in the man, with Purple or Rainbow)
Free Bird - Lynyrd Skynyrd (and not only because of Kingsman)
Bad Moon Rising - Creedence Clearwater Revival (also, like the above, a top out of a selection of top performances)

10 Songs from 10 Bands who had each at least 10 songs, which could make it into a top 10 rock songs of all times. I omitted one-hit-wonders, not-strictly rock, and leaned more on hard rock than traditional. And I didn't even reach the '80s.

Don't come across many Rory fans these days. Great player. There's good footage of him jamming with Jack Bruce on yt.

Also favourites of mine which didn't make the cut because I don't know if they are strictly speaking rock - or I simply didn't think of them before the count reached 10.

Thanks, it's running in the background now.
Rory may not be as well known as Eric, Gary or Steve Ray but by talent, he's playing in the same league.
