Druidus
Keeper of the Grove
This is an 'open roleplay' and everyone is encouraged to join in at any time!
'Open' roleplay does not mean 'unorganized' or 'limitless', however. The events in this story are usually planned, and if something BIG happens, you can be certain that it is the result of much discussion between players, usually in the plot thread. This is not just a bunch of disorganized individuals doing what they think would be fun for their character at the time.
So, while everyone is welcome to join in, they are NOT welcome to jump in and do big, world-changing things without DISCUSSING IT FIRST. Let me be very clear about what cannot be done without permission:
1:
Any action that effects another person's character, for ill or good. Although most people realize they can't harm another person's character without permission, many don't realize that you can't HELP another character without permission, either. Many characters have flaws for a reason. Don't go healing, saving, or otherwise fixing another character without DISCUSSING IT FIRST with the player involved.
2:
Any event that would drastically change things that have been done to the world, whether the change is physical (rebuilding destroyed locations), political (converting a population to a new cause), military (killing off all the badguys) or anything else. Almost every situation, good or bad, that exists in the RP was done for some reason. Don't go changing or fixing things without DISCUSSING IT FIRST with the group.
Everyone who is involved in the RP is welcome to PM me. If you have a plot idea then you are encouraged to go post in the plot thread, which will be posted by me shortly.
Not following the above advice will only result in one thing: your post is likely to be completely ignored by everyone as if it did not happen. This is obvously not good for anyone, so please, discuss major events before doing them.
Remember: Secret plans and surprises are seldom fun for anyone else. Before they're revealed they're boring, because nobody knows about them, and afterwards they're just annoying, because nobody knew about them.
Now, the story:
Zurin Arcturus (Me) got off his horse, and handed it to the stableboy. He was careful not to raise the hood of his cloak, although the boy would probably notice anyway. He was a Dragos, one of the feared "dragon-men", who came from the provinces of the far east, in Calatharn. He was reptilian, with predominantly red, green, and black scales, frills, a lizard-like snout, and fangs.
Flipping a gold drake (currency) in the air, he walked into the bar/inn, without even waiting to see the boy catch it. Sitting down, he quickly scanned the room over. Not many people were there, and those that were, were mainly human. He did, however, spot a few Sakari, with their dark blackish-blue skin and red glowing eyes.
He called for a drink, and waited for the bartender to reply. "What is't that ye' want?" he said. "Some redbark ale, bartender." Replied Zurin, as he tossed several drakes up onto the bar counter.
As the bartender scurried off, Zurin glanced at his hands. On the inside palms, he was scarred, through a burn, which was willingly inflicted. Burnt into his scales was the image of a lamp, on each palm. The Twin Lamps, they were called. He remembered his password. "Have you seen the Twin Lamps?"
He was to meet someone here, and they were supposed to be his words. The reply would be, "They light the way to freedom.". He was here to save a large group of slaves, being taken by the Sakari through this, the home-province of the Empire, most likely "harvested" from their own provinces. It was legal for them to do so, they had sanction from the Emperor, but he had to do what he believed right.
Most likey the slaves would be mainly Dragos, Kalori and Telnor. Kalori were a race of feline humanoids, although they varied widely in structure, and the Telnor were a race of the North, and were considered to be barbarians, despite the fact that most of them could read and write Imperius, the official language of the Empire.
Zurin leaned back in his chair, and waited for the bartender to return with his drink, while watching the door, and waiting for a hooded Sakari, a possible indication of being the man he was to meet, to enter...
Where I am: A generic bar in the capital province of the Empire and the city of Azure Dreams.
Who I am: Zurin Arcturus, Journeyman of the Twin Lamps.
