You hear nostalgic stories about dogs fetching slippers, newspapers, and other items for their owners upon waking.

You also hear stories about cats being cold and aloof, and expecting worship.

This morning, Quesa(one of my cats) lovingly brought me the one item she knew I couldn't go the day without: my bra. Laid it on the floor right next to my bed. Such a good kitty... and a logical move, too.

What has your cat done for you lately?

I'm not much of a cat person actually. I like dogs. I've been bitten once by a stray dog but even then, i think dogs are really cute and adorable. Its good to know you're cat acted once like a dog. :p

Zoe does nothing useful...except for usually good
accuracy in hitting the litter box.
But White Kitty....when she was alive, she delivered
all sorts of internal organs & severed heads at our
doorstep.

My dogs never bring me anything. They just beg.

Accuracy in hitting the litter box is no small feat.

That was kind of White Kitty. She wanted to share her meal with you.

Same here. I had two dogs. Both of them were spoiled brats. Never brought me anything. Never listened to any of my commands. They weren't even interested in having hugs and cuddles. The only time they needed me when it was meal time. lol.

My dog was very loving but also very naughty. She'd sense if any human was lonely and lean up against them. This way she'd hug the garbage collectors and various others, but she'd also steal. She kept trying to bring me things that would catch my interest. She brought me: sticks, voles, mice, deer parts, yellow squash, jacket, deflated ball, grill accessories, half a pack of cigarettes, purse with money and ID in it. Yes I returned it.

I lived out in the country and didn't have a fence. I tried a couple of containment strategies. I tried putting her on a run line, but she wasn't happy. I didn't see any point to having my dog be miserable. Then I tried an electric shocking radio collar. For a time this worked well keeping her local, but she learned that if she waited 30 seconds the collar would stop shocking. The collar ceased being effective, but I wasn't willing to tie her up. She wasn't dangerous, and nobody lived nearby. She got into a habit of wandering. Then she started bringing me gifts. Then she stopped coming home.

You're lucky she didn't bring you a mouse or bird she had just caught.

P.S Was this the bra full of sweets, or have those all been eaten?

We had a cat who was no Einstein but brought us gifts including 2 live crickets which she watched hop away and a live bird who we finally got back outside.

Our golden girl brings us toys all the time. When I'm on the can, she drops them outside the bathroom so I remember her when I am finished with my business.

As a kid, my cat caught my pet mouse that had escaped. She came over one day, and kept head butting me. I put my hand out to pet her, and she dropped the mouse in my hand, completely unharmed. She then stomped away(and for a 20 pound cat, stomping is a production) as if to say "will you put your toys away..."

If there were any food items in the bra, they'd been removed before me being 'gifted' it.

One of my cats massages my belly often.
It's not very good for my clothes though.

They've also learned to avoid stepping on my keyboard, book pages, or sitting or lying down in front of me when I'm performing ritual prayer.

I have a cat that used to almost bust down the door to 'participate' in any kind of ritual activity. It was more disturbing to listen to him bellow and pick at the door than it was to just let him in.

Imagine a cat trying to bust down a door in order to deliver a brassiere...

I took care of fabio this week while my parents vacationed.. now it likes me cause I feed it. It flipped a switch in its mind, so now it purrs at me and wants to lay on me, which would be ok except it flexes its eagle's claws on me as it snuggles

I like cats, but they kind of make me tired when I look at them laze around. They like to sleep, and they pull your energy into participating. I kind of need to get up and do things

And here I thought this fatigue was coming from the time switch last week... I guess now I'll blame the cats.

Being a dumb animal myself I enjoy all non poisonous animals. Too many times I've gotten lost trying to find animal shelters after finding injured birds, rabbits, squarrels, cats and dogs while traveling. " Oh,god no!", "don't you dare bring that animal in here!". Actually if you don't know what you are doing you can hurt more animals than you help. I've learned that the hard way. I admire people who operate animal shelters but why the heck do they hide them?.....lol Too far off topic, I'm sorry
