Root of all evil? (part 2)

Just wondering if anyone caught the second installment of richard dawkins' programme "Root of all Evil?", and what you thought of it. I thought it was quite insightful and I learnt a lot about how religious schools teach science right along side bible stories, I didn't really kno they did it like that before. He stressed an important point to me as well, the idea that we should live our lives as if nothing is after, I personally try and think this to me everyday, "I am lucky to be here, and be aware of it".

Peace everyone of all religions x x x

Does the fallacy of Pascals wager need to be debunked yet again??
Someone needs to help theists come up with a new argument.

I didn`t see the show as I`m in the US but I wouldn`t mind a little more info on what Dawkins covered if you have the inclination Dave.

Same here, after reading a few of his books Dawkins has won a lot of respect from me.

I did indeed see it, been looking forward to it all week. I was a bit disappointed because i learned nothing i didn't already know.

What the show included was the standard stuff about some religious people getting others to believe through terror, look up Hell House. Other stuff about teaching creation as truth, alongside teaching evolution as a possible alternative.

He looked at the segregation caused by religion, especially children e.g. labelling them Jewish children, Catholic children or Muslim children, and then went on to talk about how these children are taught to hate those of opposing views.

Other stuff he looked at was extreme conservatism vs liberalism (so glad i don't live in the US by the way), one guy he talked to honestly believed adulterers should be killed.

His closing statement was awesome though, he talked about how lucky each person is to be alive, when you consider all the odds against us such as sperm competition, life threatening situations during pregnancy, early life and into adulthood (he didn't include those situations though).
