Roseanne Barr, X and Freedom of Speech

I totally agree with Roseanne here,

After all... Roseanne Barr stands for freedom of thought and her outspokenness is a treasure that was inspiring for many voters who decided to vote for Trump.

And it seems to me that Obama stands for the negation of freedom of speech...freedom of thought...and freedom of comedy.

and we do know that Harris would have been a continuation of Obama's mandate. His fourth mandate.

Roseanne is is just another Karen. Lol

No one in the MAGA movement really cares about free speech. Just look at how they react when someone disagrees with them. And look at how MAGA politicians are trying to shut down their opposition's freedom of speech.

I can't take her serious anymore. Like Motley Crue, MAGA is where washed up celebrities or talentless hacks go to get a voice.

I've never been a fan of Roseanne Barr. I never thought she was funny or entertaining.

She was booed during her disrespectful rendition of the National Anthem. She really got a lot of flak over that.

Well...
I believe that she is a great comedian, her humor makes me die laughing.
Of course I am used to that kind of humor, it's widespread in my country.
Comedy has to be irreverent. :)

As for freedom of speech... people need to be able to say what they think it's funny.

Fran Drescher and Roseanne are absolutely fantastic...I mean...their jokes make me die laughing.

In the nineties, in shows like this you could also make more jokes about LGBTs and other kinds of situation.

Just FYI: since Musk took over twitter, fake news and misinformation on the platform has surged exponentially.

Today, it is BY FAR the biggest spreader of fake news / misinformation of ALL social media platforms.

Say what you will about his motivation for taking it over (only he really knows). The fact of the matter is that the platform was MUCH better off before he turned it into a cesspool of misinformation and unchecked fake news and hate speech.

I might not agree with her politics, but I grew up watching Roseanne and it was hilarious. Much like entertainers like Undertaker and Kane, i like their characters on screen, which for some reason made me think they were cool people, but now after their support of Trump and weird cringe actions, i realise the character does not equal the real human. Some people should just hide their true selves from us.

I also think he promised absolute free speech but then ended up banning a few people anyway?

I don't really know tbh.

The problem with "absolute free speech" in a digital era where "social media" is taking on the disguise of being "news platforms", and where algorithms are designed to keep people in an "information bubble", is that it becomes close to impossible to tell fake news from actual news.

And the advent of AI is only going to make this even worse.

This means that those who operate such platforms have a huge responsibility. This kind of shenannigans is destroying democracy from within.

AI is pretty scary when it comes to this. At some point we wont be able to take digital mediums seriously because everything could be fake.

Even without AI, this is already the case really... at least when it comes to whatever you see on "social media". There is zero fact checking going on. There is no vetting of sources. It's even almost impossible to tell the difference between a genuine opinion and a sponsored advertisement.

My advice to everyone is to simply stay away.

On top of this factual news is manipulated, with snippets extracted and selective facts, and the most devestating part is how people interpret facts to suit their agendas. Social media is now just a propoganda war.

IMO, its best to trust our own experience and read dense books on topics from opposing views.

Freedoms and rights in America end where they unduly burden another person's freedoms or rights.

Consider free speech on social media during a public health emergency like a pandemic: People's lives are at risk, so the government has a duty to prevent that.

Consider too, that treating corporations like people is one of the reasons our government no longer represents the people as it should. It has allowed corporations the right to spend money to influence politicians. Musk and Twitter are no different. One of the world's richest people spreading misinformation and propaganda through a large social media network is not conducive to freedom and individual rights.

Especially during dire times like that.
Where every opinion is needed...and nobody can really monopolize the narrative.

Yes...we have seen that in Europe. With Sorosian Empire.

One example of misinformation?

I never worried about what celebrities think about anything. I think that may have been a problem for the Democrats, since they seem far too enamored with what celebrities think.

Are the words produced by AI protected by free speech laws.
Is an AI computer a person who's rights to free speech is protected.
Is it even protected by copyright. Who is the owner. The person who asks the question, or the owner of the machine. Is it plagiarism to use AI.

Not all opinions are equal however. My drunk uncle's opinions on vaccines are worth far less than a doctor's.

One example of misinformation?

"...he claimed in a tweet that children were “essentially immune” to Covid..."

www.rollingstone.com/culture/culture-features/elon-musk-twitter-misinformation-timeline-1235076786/amp/

"At least 87 of Musk's posts this year have promoted claims about the U.S. election that fact-checkers have rated as false or misleading, amassing 2 billion views, according to the Center for Countering Digital Hate's report."

"
Musk shared a claim that a Philadelphia homeless shelter that serves as the benefits mailing address for 5,200 people stood as a front to “harvest” ballots on behalf of “transients.” Musk’s post did not address the fact that Americans are not legally required to have a home to vote, and can use a shelter to register.

Seth Bluestein, a Republican Philadelphia city commissioner, corrected Musk: not everyone who receives benefits at the shelter uses it to register at that address, and fewer than 150 ballots were mailed to the shelter in 2020."

www.nbcnews.com/news/amp/rcna176938

His own AI program on X agrees:

"...there is substantial evidence and analysis suggesting that Elon Musk has spread misinformation on various topics, including elections, to a very large audience through his social media platform, X (formerly known as Twitter)."

Wow! Did you hear her just before the two minute mark? She has gone off her rocker. She is either in serious mental decline or she is insane. Perhaps a health dose of both.
