I wrote something about this in another thread, but what Putin is doing is swallowing up territory, supporting countries such as Iran, murdering his opponents and acting a bit like someone who would love to be a Czar. To me, Russia is a big problem in the world today as is China. China with their cyber attacks on their opponents, their spying on the entire world with malware, aggressively taking over territory whereever they can and so forth. Both those nations are to me the #1 threats today.

Perhaps. But at a time when sending regular air strikes to Syria is seen as a positive thing - as a matter of fact, as peacemaking - in the USA, it is just not clear why China or Russia would be any worse than the USA.

It is difficult to ignore the dangerous leanings of the hawks in American policy making.

I agree that we need to be very careful about those hawks who want us to get into a war with Iran. But in spite of our shortcomings I think the US is by and large a positive force in the world unlike Russia and China.
