Hi all. I am studying photography at college and my new project is all about objects and for this I have chosen Religious objects:help:. So if you could all tell me objects that are important to your religions that would be of great help, and if you have any links to photos affiliated with relious objects, eg a cross, church etc that would also help. Thanks

A cross is really important to Christianity - it is a constant reminder of what Christ did for us. Here are some crosses.

Feathers in Hair

World's Tallest Hobbit
The pentacle is an often worn symbol in the pagan and Wiccan tradition. There are various interpretations of what it means- the most common is that four of its points stand for Fire, Water, Earth and Air, while the last represents Spirit.

My personal favorite sacred object is a feather, or feathers.

Without Wax
The bible, I would say, would be about the only religious object, but it is just a book. The message it brings is what's sacred to us. It's interesting to read about other sacred items of others. Exciting!!!

James the Persian

Dreptcredincios Crestin
Well for us Orthodox the obvious things are icons, whether they be on wooden panels, frescoed on walls or whatever. We also use the cross and all of us wear crosses under our clothes that we receive when we are baptised. There are many styles of cross used in the Orthodox Church, but the one that most associate with us is the Slavonic three barred or St. Andrew's cross. If you would like me to provide you with links to pictures of such things just let me know and I'll be happy to give you some.

Hi,
I have found your post on the project, Jaime_carter.
Please, visit my Virtual Museum of religious artifacts
at: http://jerzybg.republika.pl
You can see there many religious artifacts (ceremonial objects)
that are important to many religions, faiths etc.
Maybe, that is what you are searching for.
All the best

Draka

Wonder Woman
Pentacles and pentagrams, as Feathers mentioned, are central. Some like statues of goddesses and gods to help personify them. Tree of life, Wheel of life. There are many things.

The 3 symbols that show up in the Baha'i Faith are here:

For pix of Baha'i Houses of worship, try here:

I see you're in the UK. If you're in London, Shoghi Effendi's gravesite is in London.

For just general info, www.bahai.org is a good site.

If you have any questions, just ask.

Good luck on your project!
