Sad news: Jack Palance Dies

One of the great screen presences of all time, Jack Palance, most recently famous for his roles in the "City Slickers" movies, died today.

My favorite Palance role was the villian in Shane.

When my father was a teenager, he used to work for a theater in New York he went to a bar on his break and Jack Palance bought him a drink (possibly his first). My father always enjoyed regaling us with that tale.
