Safest city or/and country in the world, what you say??

From your travels or some kind of second hand knowledge, which city or/and country do you think is the safest place you can be.

When I say safe I mean not only a place with no war and bombings etc, but also a place where you will not have a problem with your wife, child, sister, mother, anyone for that matter taking a walk around the plot at any time they please. That peace of mind you feel.

Does not have to be a place where no crime ever takes place, but a place where you feel safe. A place where you know the cops won't shoot you or harass you for being you.

Countries are large, and some spaces within them feel more safe that others. We just got back from a hiking trip to Northern BC. I felt incredibly safe with regard to people, and to Covid, as there was no need to interact with anyone. That said, I carried bear spray on every hike. Not for dangerous people.

I felt safe in India and in Mauritius. Not so much in USA.

Oh. Canada is a very safe place I think. Other than the chance of dying in the cold. ;)

Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.
Safety is subjective.

I remember when soviet Russia was the safest place. North Korea as well. I'm sure you could walk down the streets and not worry about being mugged or robbed at all. At least by one's fellow citizen.

Those places of course are not safe at all if you love freedom of speech etc. In those places the state does the mugging.

Without searching for some site that discusses this, I'd pick Switzerland or one of the Scandinavian countries.

No talking to the opposite sex in public? I have never heard that in my life. Really? Opposite sexes intermingle pretty freely there as I know.

But I do agree the laws there are unbelievable. When the plane lands the captain announces that for possession of any narcotics you would face a mandatory death sentence.

I could be wrong on that count. It's been years since I was there.
