To all of my Christian brothers and sisters, and to the American family as a whole. The family structure as we know it is on the verge of non-existence. With the state of Massachusetts passing the same sex marriage law, other states will soon follow suit. The gay right activist considers this a moral victory. It is a shame that a group represent 2% of the population can pursue a judiuary system to change what have been established since the beginning of time. It is more of a disgrace that we as Christians consisting of 50% of the population allowed this to happen.

Some of us remember when prayer was taken out of school under the disguise of separation of church verses state. I was a child then. But when I became an adult, I always wonder how one woman pulled this off. Was it because she was rich? Was it her political background? Or was it her popularity. I have come to a conclusion that the reason she was able to do this. She knew that the Church and those who confessed to be Christians would do nothing. And that is exactly what they did NOTHING, Too busy being religious and not concern about issues that would effect generations to come.

Consider the affect this action had on our school systems. Consider the phrase ?under God? removed from the pledge of Allegiance. Consider that we cannot place the nativity scene or anything representing Christianity in Federal places. Consider the Ten Commandments not being allowed in courtrooms. Consider this in a nation that was founded on Christian principles and the freedom to worship God.

We have spent too much time and energy debating and feuding with each other, defending our denominations rather than defending the faith. We were more outrage when some of our most notable men of God sinned. And to this day some of us still have not forgiven them. If Peter was alive today we would verbally stone him for denying Christ.

I believe it is time we spoke up and let our government, our politcians, and our judges know who we are. Sons and daughters of the most high God. It is time that we really fell on our face before God and seek his ultimate wisdom and strength concerning this issue.

To those of you who have not kept silent, but have stood in the forefront. I commend you.
To the rest of us it is time we let our voices be heard. If not we will be having church in underground caves and in secret hiding places, because we did nothing.

Your brother in Christ,

Bruce

To all of my Christian brothers and sisters, and to the American family as a whole. The family structure as we know it is on the verge of non-existence.

It's funny that you talk about our society's disintegrating familial structure, when you are trying to undermind the genuineness of homosexual marriage. It seems to me, that our current problem with divorce and domestic violence is a pretty hetero-only situation.

With the state of Massachusetts passing the same sex marriage law, other states will soon follow suit. The gay right activist considers this a moral victory.

I am sure that the African Americans who won the right to vote thought along similar lines...

It is a shame that a group represent 2% of the population can pursue a judiuary system to change what have been established since the beginning of time.

They are a minority, therefore they have no voice, and are not entitled to the same rights as everyone else.
Do you hear yourself speaking here??

It is more of a disgrace that we as Christians consisting of 50% of the population allowed this to happen.

Why don't you re-word that one-- it makes you sound like religious mafia or something. Newsflash: Christians do not control the judiciary system. What is it you think you could have done?

Some of us remember when prayer was taken out of school under the disguise of separation of church verses state.

Disguised? So what you're saying is that you know what the real reason is?

I was a child then. But when I became an adult, I always wonder how one woman pulled this off. Was it because she was rich? Was it her political background? Or was it her popularity. I have come to a conclusion that the reason she was able to do this.

Why does there have to be any other excuse for her success other than that it was the RIGHT THING TO DO!

She knew that the Church and those who confessed to be Christians would do nothing. And that is exactly what they did NOTHING, Too busy being religious and not concern about issues that would effect generations to come.

So in other words, you're all hypocrites? Great. I am so glad I was raised as one of you.

Consider the affect this action had on our school systems. Consider the phrase ?under God? removed from the pledge of Allegiance. Consider that we cannot place the nativity scene or anything representing Christianity in Federal places. Consider the Ten Commandments not being allowed in courtrooms.

Does that really sound so unreasonable to you? What about all of the Jews and Muslims and people of whatever else religion who live in this great country? If all you ever saw was their religious paraphenalia all over the place and none of your own, you'd probably feel a little irritated too.

Consider this in a nation that was founded on Christian principles and the freedom to worship God.

Interesting. And here I was thinking that this country was based on democracy and equal rights among men. Thank you for enlightening me.
But wait-- wasn't it Ben Franklin who was called the 'Father of the Constitution'? And wait again... wasn't he an atheist? Wow-- there goes that argument.

We have spent too much time and energy debating and feuding with each other, defending our denominations rather than defending the faith. We were more outrage when some of our most notable men of God sinned. And to this day some of us still have not forgiven them. If Peter was alive today we would verbally stone him for denying Christ.

And he would probably reply with what Jesus said: "he who is without sin, cast the first stone."

I believe it is time we spoke up and let our government, our politcians, and our judges know who we are. Sons and daughters of the most high God. It is time that we really fell on our face before God and seek his ultimate wisdom and strength concerning this issue.

Ok! Whoever can fall on his face the hardest will be our leader for this thing alright? Ready...GO!
Yeah, good luck with that.

To the rest of us it is time we let our voices be heard. If not we will be having church in underground caves and in secret hiding places, because we did nothing.

Oh please-- spare me your pathetic martyrous cries. Do you not realize that the point of your entire post was to oppress people? No one wants to ban Christianity around here, in fact what we want is quite the opposite. EQUALITY AND ACCEPTANCE.

I don't think that we, as Christians, should force what we believe on other people(I'm not meaning that we are all anti-homosexual). I just believe that we need to live what we believe, and stop flogging people. The reason we tell people about Christianity is to embrace them in Christian love, not debase them.
My problem with Christians is their forcefulness. Speak to those who want to listen not to people who are running in the opposite direction.
There is such a difference in doing something in love and in hate. Don't look at someone in discust because they are homosexual or a sinner. LOVE THEM.
I agree though with Mr_Sprinkles. Religion in society is cool, but do we want the government to get involved?
This is NOT a Christian nation. People realized that and they have a right to get rid of religious items in public places. It's when they are coming into our home and churches and taking apart our religion that we need to fight.
I believe we should get the word out there but not being stupid about it. Educate people about the Bible and live your life accordingly.
Why shouldn't people be mad and hate Christian's? Look at history. The Crusades, Mary the first, the Salem witch trials. Christians have been incredibly stupid. As for homosexuality, I have no problem saying that I disagree with it. I also have no problem saying that I have homosexual friends and family members that I love deep in my heart. They will make the choices they want, and God will judge them they way HE deems best. That's not my way or anybody elses. Who am I to judge anyone when I'm a sinner too?

In the Bible, there is a story of a woman who was caught in the act of adultery and was about to be stoned to death when Jesus said those famous words. Of course, all of her accusers gradually drifted away, throwing no stones, and Jesus kindly told the woman to 'go and sin no more'.

I am very positive that that's the way it played out, but heck-- prove me wrong any day! I'll try to find the specific verses I'm talking about.

***MOD POST***

We already have a Gay Marriage thread. I'm locking this thread, because the General Discussion forum is not for debating, and this subject always leads to a debate. So if you have anything to add to this subject, please refer to the other thread.

Thank you,
