I save the world every morning and by noon you guys always screw it up again.

I'd give up if I had anything better to do.

I have been reading a series called the Dark Tower Series by Stephen King, and in it there's a character named Eddie who shares the symbolism of your avatar. He saves the world every few weeks but not every day.

In what way?
Wash another million gametes down the shower drain?
Tom

I'm a cosmic administrator too. Every morning I ban the devil, and every day by noon the intergalactic forum software just lets him back in again.

And you guys keep liking his posts, what's up with that?

Eddiie's a slacker.

And if somebodies using my avatar they owe me a nickel.

I voted the world does not need saving... so I guess as far as @Carlita is concerned that puts me out of a job. :)

Fortunately, I don't look at it that way and got over my Messiah complex long ago. Though I still do love the cape and tights.

Hey. The Lotus Sutra has a Messiah Complex which is odd. I see it more of showing by your actions that you are a Bodhisattva rather than evangelizing (as I've seen some Lotus Sutra devotees do, unfortunately). It's always good to read the suttas to balance that out, really so you won't get hooked into worship. I really hate that.

I try daily to save what small portion i can, green tech inventions, community services,
first aid services etc.

Sadly the virus we call humanity seems to be the most destructive element.
