Star Wars 4,5,6 of course is what I consider the best for Alien Sci-fi and I'm a trekie.
But I would say Men in Black is another of my favorites, its comedy but has lots of aliens and technology. 2 and 3 not so much but I love the time travel story in 3 but you need to see the first one to understand 3

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes was a pleasant surprise.
I really wish the Dune was as good as the book.
I'm one of the 14 people who loved it.
If you go into the movie expecting the David Lynch treatment, you won't be disappointed.
Watch "Moon" with Sam Rockwell. Amazing and thought-provoking movie.
At the time, I wasn't aware of "the David Lynch" treatment. Still not too impressed with it, having seen other stuff by him.

I think the SyFy Channel production (a 3-part miniseries) of Dune was better. Closer to the book.
I recall seeing at least part of it...I liked it better than the movie...not a lot, though...

Nothing compares to the book.
I saw it, but prefer David Lynch's more over the top version.
I also saw "Moon", but found it less inspiring than did the critics.
