hello everyone, i am doing a science fair project on why someone is more pro-war/anti-war based on variables, and i finally made them all. feel free to add variables you think would be good, or say how one is bad. I need 50 pro-war, 50 anti-war. Here are the questions, PM them to me if you want.

Age?
Gender?
Political Party?
Stance on war?
Are you religious?
If so, what kind (a general category, like asian based, middle eastern, or western)
Are you a Christian?
If so, what kind (protestant or catholic)?
Do you belong to a more liberal church, or a more conservative one?
Were your parents/parental figure opposed to the war?
Do you have a son/daughter or husband/wife in the war?
Do you have any relatives in the war?
Are you yourself a war veteran?
Are you proud of yours/a relatives service?
Have you ever been in a peace rally?
Have you ever been in a pro-war rally?
Do you listen to liberal media only?
Do you listen to conservative media only?
Do you listen to both, or supposedly unbiased media (like the BBC)?

If someone can think of others, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for posting!:jiggy:

Firstly, are we talking about war in general or the war in Iraq (as people normally mean when they say anti-war, pro-war these days). Secondly, for your question about political party, do you wish only American parties and therefore would you prefer it if only those in America completed the survey?

Mainly about the Iraq war, yes. This is more directed at Americans, but you may answer. For political party, just do your closest thing to Democrat or Republican. thanks for the quick response :)

Hmmm a bit personal but a financial question would be interesting since I would be willing to bet that there would be varying support for the war across the economic brackets.

Additionally, I don't know if this is quite what you are going for but the following questions that identify what people feel are justifiable reasons for the war might be interesting:
1) If the main motive of the war in Iraq had been to get rid of WMDs and had these actually existed, would the war have been justified?
2) If the main motive of the war in Iraq had been to depose Suddam, would the war have been justified?

etc.

fat,
on the political party question. i would have them add in whether they were for example
democrat/consertive or democrat/ liberal or what ever they are. i feel that would be a better way of going about it cause then you would be more able to see how the person thinks. as we know there are many aspects to each political ideal.

In adding answers to Fluffy's excellent questions,

Financial situation: Slightly above poverty level.

If the main motive of the war in Iraq had been to get rid of WMDs and had these actually existed, would the war have been justified? Unsure. (This one, for the same reasons of being unbiased, might be rephrased: "If the main motive of the war in Iraq was proven to have been to get rid of WMDs, and had these been proven to exist, would the war have been justified?)

If the main motive of the war in Iraq had been to depose Suddam, would the war have been justified? No.

Age: 18
Gender: Female
Political Party: None
Stance on war: Should be used as a last resort, if at all. Always wrong, but sometimes necessary.
Are you religious: Depends on how you define religious. I have a 'religion.'
If so, what kind: Eastern, Taoist.
Are you a Christian: No.
Do you belong to a more liberal church, or a more conservative one: There aren't any Taoist centers in my area.
Were your parents/parental figure opposed to the war: My father is, but my mother isn't.
Do you have a son/daughter or husband/wife in the war: No.
Do you have any relatives in the war: Not this one, though my grandfather has been in a war.
Are you yourself a war veteran: Seeing as how the military won't take me with a body this messed up, no. ;)
Are you proud of yours/a relatives service: Yes.
Have you ever been in a peace rally: Unfortunately, no. There aren't many of those here in rural Georgia.
Have you ever been in a pro-war rally: Such things exist? Ugh.
Do you listen to liberal media only: I get my news online. Talk shows, even if I agree with what they're saying, grind my nerves.
Do you listen to conservative media only: Same answer as above.
Do you listen to both, or supposedly unbiased media (like the BBC): Various sources on the internet. BBC, AP, Yahoo, Wired, Slashdot... not sure what categories those fall under.
