Secrets?

This questions for all the religious people out there. Do you have certain spiritual ideas, about life, outside your religion; that you keep to yourself and don’t share with anybody?

Nothing my eye, Something for sure
Not since RF came into my life. Before that, and in person I hardly ever share them.

I'm religiously, and spiritually independent and follow no specific religion.

I guess it’s kind of a dumb question to ask. Someone with secrets isn’t gonna let you know they have em.

Why not? Everyone has them, more or less, because humans aren't omniscient/omnipresent entities. We all keep things from others - it's an inevitability. Whether or not we do so mindfully is another matter.

And yeah, there are definitely various things I don't discuss. In most cases, it is because they are things outsiders simply will not understand anyway. Like @The Hammer there are some things that need to be left to "the initiated" so to speak. This is a principle I didn't fully understand until being part of a mystery religion myself. It's about the experience, and even if I talked about the experience, that is just not the same as the doing. If you haven't also walked that road, you won't get it. Certain things just won't make sense to others who haven't had certain life experiences. Think of them as kinda like "inside jokes" maybe? You just kinda had to be there.

Eh. If people out there have spiritual secrets they’re not going to share them, sorry

That's not completely true. I've shared things that, in this instance here, I would consider a spiritual secret.

So, while I won't discuss it here I might discuss it with another person who has had a similar experience to me.

Haha. U just make that up

Nope, there are quite a few mystery traditions now and historically. Paganism has mystery elements depending on tradition. Freemasonry is a mystery tradition (that doesn't call itself a religion). Some Hindu sects and Tibetan schools of thought are Mystery traditions.

Then historically we have the Greek Mystery Cults.

I just googled it. Oh the book? Yeah that means nothing
No, I'm not talking about a book (as an aside, search engines, schmoggle or otherwise, are gods awful at doing any real research because of how their algorithms work).

The Order of Bards, Ovates, and Druids is a modern mystery tradition. It's not advertised that way, but it becomes apparent and is mentioned as such through the course. There are various other contemporary Pagan mystery traditions that I don't have direct familiarity with.

No is the basic answer.

A bit more detail: I found that very very few are interested. Some other just want to hear so they can tell me I'm wrong so saying anything is a waste of time. There's also the question of understanding. If I were to say that the mast Chatti Baba was identified with France during WWII, it would be meaningless unless you understood what a mast is, for example ("mast" is pronounced "must"), how they differ from saliks on the path to God, what the path to God is all about etc. But none of that is a secret.

Kinda, yeah. For the most part, it isn't that I wouldn't want to share. Its that nobody cares, or nobody would believe me. There are a handful of things I'm obligated not to share, but I'll be honest, none of them are really a secret.
