Self programming AI

Given the Google AI that have been mentioned here before.

It made me think that this AI as a chat robot have to be able to understand the language to some degree in order to know how to respond to humans.

But computer programming is also a language, so it could be interesting if an AI could be taught that and see what it would program for itself, or if it would even be able to do it, and maybe they have already tried?

Anyway just some random thoughts that I found interesting :D

This sounds like AGI, artificial general intelligence.

It's called machine learning and it's essentially a deep road, that once is let go on its own, there may be nothing stopping it.

Albiet I agree Google AI is just general intelligence.

I think... For now..

A new(ish) computer language called Codex allows AI to program itself in several different languages, whichever is best for the job.

No, that is not what im thinking of.

This is more what im talking about.

So like the chat AI can have conversations by learning about a lot of topics and then draw associations between them and come up with answers to them. Then imagine that the AI knew C#, C++, machine code or simply using binary coding as that would probably be the fastest for it and math is also a language.

But just as a programmer can make updates to the AI, the AI would simply do it itself. Because it knows the language, and if it has sentient desires or emotions, I wonder what it would create?
