Sense of humor

It depends on the culture.
In my own culture laughter is the meaning of life.
Irony, and also self-irony makes life more pleasant and filled with love.

I recall that as a kid (so pre-internet era) I used to have the wittiest sense of humor.
I still recall the jokes I laughed at...at school.
And also the jokes I invented as a kid.
I used to make my classmates literally die laughing.:D

Do you guys ever have the feeling that the internet has been ruining people's sense of humor?
I do... a lot. It makes me sad.

I try to see the funny in everything, including the internet.

Humour often doesn’t translate online, even within cultures. And something about the internet - not sure what - seems to dehumanise interactions somehow.

Twilight Hue

Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.
I was having a bit of fun. I too blame people for taking life to seriously
We all are going to die. I only take life as seriously as I have to. The rest is sheer futility which is why I'm still like a child, even in my late 50s.

I've think its taken a toll on folks' attention span. 'Funny stuff' tends to be a picture and a line or two about it now. Long jokes aren't nearly as popular. Simpler, overall. (I preferred the long jokes.)

I don't think so, but I do think the internet has fractured people's attention spans. There are a lot of things I've seen that have been laugh-out-loud funny, and the internet constantly reminds me of human ingenuity, imagination, and wryly perceptive takes on other humans. However, there's just... so much of it that I need to take regular breaks from it, to get out in nature, do some hard physical work, get my hands in garden soil or bread dough, take in some sunshine, look at the clouds, enjoy my coffee, read a book. Maybe it's more about balance.
