Serenity

Well, just got back from watching one of the best movies of the year, Serenity. It's based off the TV show Firefly. I don't often recommend movies to folk, but this is one everyone should see. Don't like sci-fi? Doesn't much matter. It's a great story, great acting, great characters and it's pretty darn funny too.

Ya know what movie sucked? Hitchhiker's guide to the Galaxy. They meticulously stripped out every funny scene, as if they wanted to make sure it wasn't gonna be funny. I think i enjoyed almost 3 minutes of this movie, and half of that was the "bravery glasses" (not explained in the movie, but pretty obvious they were using them) and the cameo of the original Marvin the robot (from the bbc miniseries) standing around. The rest of it really sucked. I almost cried,

Heheee, I rather liked "Hitchhiker's", and I've been a fan for quite some time, too. Maybe it was just because I'm a fan of the guy that played Zaphod.

Thanks for the recommendation, Darkdale! From the commercials, it looks like another of my favorite actors is in it. (He's got bright red hair and is tallish, he usually plays 'comic relief' characters.)

Holy mackeral! I saw the previews for this movie, and I thought it looked like one of the worst movies of all time. Shame on you, Darkdale, shame on you. :D

That wouldn't be Alan Tudyk, would it, Feathers? He played Wat in 'A Knight's Tale'. I love him..I think he's fabulous.

I havent seen this movie yet but one of my friends just got back from it... He says it is simply awesome and recommends it to everyone as well... Though he did say that you might want to see the first episode of the series first, to get the characters down. =)

That's the guy! I loved Wat, especially his discussions with Chaucer. (My sister and I were threatening each other with "Pain! Lots of Pain!" for weeks after seeing that.) Thanks, I didn't even know his name!

I went with my girlfriend and she followed the characters just fine without seeing any of the episodes (which I don't understand how) - but it was such a great film. It was kind of like seeing Star Wars episode 4 for the first time. Except, I liked Serenity better.

I haven't seen the movie Serenity, but I know the Godsmack song Serenity is great. This thread got that song stuck in my head.
