Hi everyone :). I’m new to these forums. I have used other forums in the past. I hope to discuss all things Bible related especially in regards to the Law and of faith, such as Creationism.

Right now I’m studying the Laws of the Old Testament or Hebrew Scriptures and I’m finding it enlightening.

I’m affiliated with the Assemblies of Yahweh who are also called Spiritual or Messianic Israelites hence my name ;). I guess we are similar in outlook to Messianic Jews.

I look forward to having some faith building discussions :sparkles:.

Thanks.

Do you find the stoning of people working on the Sabbath enlightening?

Welcome, btw.

Hi Viole
Good afternoon,

Yes I do actually. But I think you mean it in a sarcastic sense. Death penalties for violating the Sabbath might seem overbearing but when you consider that it is one day set aside by Yahweh each week as holy and was the conclusion of the creation week, yes, I would say it is enlightening:) in the sense that clearly this day is important to the Heavenly Father.

Messianic.

I am not sarcastic at all. I am thrilled that you believe that stoning people working on Saturdays is morally right. At least you are honest.

Since you have experience in forums, take notice that RF rules about debate are peculiar. With multiple religions present we have to keep the choppy waters in isolated areas. There are a lot of invisible fences. Where you debate is very important, and most areas are not for debate. That is, in most areas its against rules to correct other's views. Some areas you are not permitted to post in such as in the Dir for a religion that is not your own or for a political conservative to post in a Liberal dir area etc. In other ways you'll find that the rules are more permissive than on some other forums. Read the rules, avoid responding to trolling and instead report rule breaking.

Have fun, too.

Welcome to RF. Are the "Assemblies of Yahweh" just another way of saying "Assemblies of G-d", or is it a different denomination?

Me: Something tells me, you're gonna fit into RF just fine. I see you've already settled into your bumper car. Just make sure you have your helmet and seat belt strapped into place. Forum membership does not come with health insurance.

Me: My guess is that Assemblies of Yahweh are not as similar to Messianic Jews in outlook as you'd like to think, but RF is filled with strange creatures and there's something new under the sun daily.

My guess is that your "Assemblies of Yahweh" would, if it had its own DIR (i.e. "Safe Haven"), settle in in the midst of the other Restorationists. You may be the first-and-only AoY right now, but if you multiply sufficiently maybe somebody among the Staff will give you your very own DIR.

Oh, sorry. I guess I’m just used to people being sarcastic when it comes to Old Testament laws. I apologise. But yes, I’m really looking forward to discussing aspects of the Old Testament laws with other people.

Hi Brick. Thanks for that. After reading your post I agree that I would need to make sure I read up on the rules as I clearly don’t want to post something that I’m not supposed to or where I’m not supposed to.

Thanks for the heads up!

Messianic.

There is a Messianic Judaism DIR for this.
