Sharia Law

I have read quite a bit about this law. Is there any basis for this in the quran? I have not read the quran, as it is quite a lengthy read and it will take ages. But google searches have not found any quranic source for this law. And yet it is followed by most muslim majority countries.

Good observation Chalant . The Sharia laws that you hear , here and there , are from the Hadith books , not from Qur'an . Shia have their own Hadith books while Sunni also have the same . They deduce the Sharia Law from those Hadith books .

Though Qur'an is regarded as the book of GOD and source of Islamic law , you little find from it among the Muslim . Thanks .

currently there's no state applying the Sharia law even Saudi Arabia, Iran and pakistan all are secular states

Sharia law is from both quran and hadith books, for example in the quran Allah told us what to do with the thief [5.38] And (as for) the man who steals and the woman who steals, cut off their hands as a punishment for what they have earned, an exemplary punishment from Allah; and Allah is Mighty, Wise.

Yes but ahadith have some other important details. For exemple :

4- The theft itself has to be proven, either by the testimony of two qualified witnesses or by the confession of the thief twice.

Also the caliph Omar suspended this law when it was the famine.

Dafuq did I just read. Their state religion is Islam, and minorities are discriminated as government policy. Of course that makes UK non secular, but in practice it is very much secular. Also, haven't you heard of something called repenting, and criminals who abandon that life? Cutting off hands deprives them of this.
