My husband told me today normal people wash their sheets every day. I told him I doubted he knew any normal people.

So, I've created a poll to see what is normal...

How often do you wash/change your sheets?

(Keep in mind this poll was created by a person who sleeps in a pile of blankets on the floor.)

Weekly. With 5 beds to change i do one a day and have weekends off.
I do love fresh, clean, linen sheets, a but daily change us just too much so i suffer in silence for a few days ;-)

Daily?? That would just cause a huge amount of washing I don't even have enough space to hang them all up to dry.
I have no fixed schedule, I change them when the bed stops smelling nice and fresh.

Also, by sheets, I guess you are talking about those weird layered bedsheets with blankets on top and the ends folded under the mattress?
Because we have Spannbettlaken (fitted sheets) and Bettbezug (duvet cover)... much easier to handle, but that might just be a matter of habit

We have a Spanish friend who used to visit us in England.

We once had a party for him and some of his friends, we asked them if they wanted gateau.. shocked silence, Spanish for cat is gato...

Back to the thread His English was pretty good but anytime anyone mentioned "sheet" he fell about laughing.

Ok, never mind i thougt it fun..

Normal people do not wash their sheets every day.

Anyone who's sheets are being washed every day is paying someone else to do the washing.
Where are these normal people? I’ve always wanted to meet a normal person.
I think my husband knows some fine folks with OCD and doesn't realize that that kind of painstaking cleanliness isn't necessary for a good life(and myself and all the people that are close to him suspect he has OCD, too.)

As it is, I was my pile of blankets when they appear dirty. its more frequent since its on the floor.

My dogs would resent me removing the interesting smells too often.

I've never heard of people washing their sheets (or equivalent bed cloths) daily. Even in the best of hotels and in hospitals it is weekly or at most twice a week.
I change my Bettlaken and Bettbezug when my cats tell me it's time.

Biweekly. Mainly because I don't do anything in my bed anymore but sleep, and they wear less quickly if they are washed less often.

I've known no one that washes sheets daily unless they've made some sort of mess on them.
