Balls have become synonymous with courage, nobility, boldness, and valiance.
Mother Teresa of Calcutta went into the poorest slums and gutters, to hold, feed, and comfort dying lepers. She went into Lebanon during the civil war and other dangerous places that were hostile to her faith. She made some mistakes; But undoubtedly, mother Teresa had big brave balls that most men lack.
Dorothy Day, Harriet Tubman, and Rosa Parks had balls.
Judith went to the enemy camp and decapitated Holofernes, saving the Israelites from the Assyrians. Judith had balls!
But why is it that male reproductive organs are associated with valor, boldness, courageous, and daring behavior?
Yet being called a ***** (mod edit), twat, the C word or various other names for female genitalia is such an insult, or I've heard first hand: "the Pope got his panties in a bundle", so and so "left work because his vagina hurt"etc....all are severe humiliating insults to the person they are directed at. As well as the b word for female dog.
Now one exception is "dick". Unless you're like my grandpa or younger brother and that is your name, Dick is usually an insult.
But it is not intrinsically associated with weakness. In prison, Dick symbolized the correctional officer's authority over us.
Inmates would say, "if you do x, y and z, you get dicked." The officers dehumanized us and made us meow like kittens over the intercom before letting us out of our cell. They were "giving us the dick" as the inmates would say. (Allegedly they sometimes did so literally.)
When they electrocute you with the tazer gun, spray you with pepper spray, cuff you and lock you in your cell, that is "getting dicked, getting owned".
So dick was a symbol of their authority, power, and ownership they exercised over us.
Anyway, why is male genitalia associated with such noble valiant virtues and power, and female genitalia associated with cowardice, timidity, weakness, and other insults?
As much as I disagree with Hillary Clinton on some things, she had balls to make it through such a nightmarish campaign, fail, and keep her composure. I gazed in awe of such big valiant balls!
