Based on some of my experiences with tech support, I would say their not needing a sparkling personality is a candidate for understatement of the year.

I'm totally not surprised based on the crap they put up with all too often 23 IT Specialists Share Their Best Tech Support Horror Stories is just one site of many where people report how insane people and requests can be.

I've also been the recipient of shocked silence when I thanked someone for doing her best, understood that there was only so much she could do and I did not hold it against her.

Of course like everywhere else, there are some who delight in being nasty but some are frustrated etc because they can't tell whack jobs exactly where they should go

Thanks! There was no attack. Just a pushback on a shallow post. The OP should know all his options, even if you (wrongfully) deem one a “free money card.”

Christ, does anyone have any advice? All I can think of is to do stretches for my back and get those muscle relaxers prescribed again and hope it helps.

That's why I went back to school, except I have knee issues. And now my right shoulder is messed up and no one is hiring me in the few fields I can do and am qualified and licensed for.
So I applied for disabilities so I can have that as I get my own businesses going.
