Should Christians celebrate Christmas

I believe this is a false statement that you have never proven.

I believe God is not under a legal system that ws given to men.

I believe He died for sins once for all time so that there is no longer a need for sacrifice.

I believe I am not sure what you are saying here, but I see it as a more direct intervention of God in removing sins which is the ultimate that He can do.

I have proven it over and over.

The one place he uses Theos - he is talking about what the Priests are saying - and points us to a TANACH text that shows the meaning here is Judge/Chosen, - in his case a claim to be the awaited Messiah - whom is the Final Judge, - and not that he is a God.

YHVH not under the system? It tells us YHVH changed things to animal sacrifice, and condemned human sacrifice.

What am I saying here? The Hebrew original had HUMAN sacrifice (gods can't be sacrificed,) and YHVH changes this to animal sacrifice.

I don't feel I need to repond to you not because I believe you are right but simply because you continue to make baseless false statements and I have no need to listen or respond to propaganda.

"Propaganda?" Biased or misleading information?

And you don't think your point of view is biased?

Especially in view of the FACT (according to the Bible) that Jesus NEVER called himself God, or mentioned any trinity!

Two things which one would assume to be very important to his ministry, - if they were what he believed?

He only claims to be the Jewish Messiah, - whom is not a God, - or part of any trinity.

The Jewish Messiah is a special HUMAN from the line of David.

I don't believe one needs to avoid paganism as though it were a plague.

Consider this Scripture: 1 Corinthians 10:20-21. And if we are to worship God "with spirit and truth" (John 4:23-24), it's important what we incorporate in our worship. Agree?

You seem to have missed the bottom of 1 Corinthians 10 -

1Co 10:27 If any of them that believe not bid you to a feast, and ye be disposed to go; whatsoever is set before you, eat, asking no question for conscience sake.

1Co 10:28 For if any man say unto you, This is offered in sacrifice unto idols, eat not for his sake that shewed it, and for conscience sake: for the earth is the Lord's, and the fulness thereof:

1Co 10:29 Conscience, I say, not thine own, but of the other: for why is my liberty judged of another man's conscience?

1Co 10:30 For if I by grace be a partaker, why am I evil spoken of, for that for which I give thanks?

1Co 10:31 Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.

1Co 10:32 Give none offence, neither to the Jews, nor to the Gentiles, nor to the church of God:

I believe I have never made a pagan sacrifice at Christmastime.I Cor. 10:19.

I believe since I have the Holy Spirit as much or more than many people that celebrating Christmas falls within the grace of God.

I believe I answer by the Holy Spirit.

I believe the idea is to repeat false information over and over without trying to prove it is true in hopes that it will be drummed into a persons head as a belief.

I believe this all qualifies as propaganda.

No pagan sacrifice..... glad to hear! Lol.

Did you ever wonder, "What's the origin of the tree? Where did the tree decorations come from? Why is it on the date, December 25th?" Etc.

The Nativity scene, displayed on the grounds of many churches, do you know it doesn't accurately portray the circumstances? Matthew 2:11 tells us that the magi (actually, astrologers) "entered the house". By this time, Jesus was not in a manger. Only the shepherds saw him in the manger! If churches want to show a manger scene -- which touches the heart -- why don't they show the sherperds there? Instead, they put the magi in the scene!

How important is truth? If the Bible openly describes it one way, but the churches describe it differently, what message does that send regarding Christendom's support of truth, and the Bible itself? --Luke 16:10

So show us where Jesus says he is God, or part of any trinity.

He doesn't. And such information would be VERY important to his teachings.

Of course so called Christians should celebrate Christmas. Not doing it would make them atheists!

Deuteronomy 12:31 "You must not worship Yahweh your God in their way."
Given that the Eucharist is lifted directly from the Roman symposium, or dinner party, and it is described that way in the bible, I'd have to say that, since it represents the core act of Christian worship, and all forms of Christian liturgy derive from that, all Christianity is royally screwed if you apply that interpretation to Deuteronomy. You've effectively killed the Body of Christ with this insistence. Congratulations.

How so?

There are Christian denominations TODAY that do not celebrate Christmas, as it isn't actually Jesus' birthday.

In the NT Jesus does not tell us to celebrate his birthday, - or worship him, - he says to worship ONLY his FATHER.

This is pretty much a standard topic for discussion on these types of boards. They never really go anywhere.

Holidays are kind of a silly thing, aren't they? I like the time off from work, yes.

Even though it is a pagan holiday and comes from pagan origins?

I think most Christians are aware of that- that obviously the time around the winter solstice has been marked by various primitive cultures for a long time- not just pagans

and I think we can all agree that however we celebrate the birth of Christ now, it's better than primitive ritual sacrifice - i.e. it makes sense to pick that time of year to deliberately replace what people did in the past.

Even one is too much poison. But with Christmas, there are several:

December 25 was worship of the Roman Sun god, Saturnalia.

The tree has its origins with Tammuz, one of the oldest gods in human history.

How sad to dirty our Savior by mixing in false deities!

http://www.jesus-is-savior.com/False Religions/Other Pagan Mumbo-Jumbo/christmas.htm
So... Christian belief cannot supplant the Pagan meaning? That's what the holiday was originally designed to do -- to take the prevailing beliefs of Pagans and turn them to something more ... Christian.
