Should food challenges be ended?

Twilight Hue

Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.

It's rare , but things like this do happen.

Should this practice end, or should people decide if the darwin awards determine things?

In this case it seems ignorance plays the greater part on those issuing the challenge and coupled with those who take on the challenge for fame and noriety via social media making it a bit Darwin awardish here.

Accidents and unpredictable things happen. I've done the one chip challenge, amd it made me realize why people have coaches (the chip is heavily caked with seasoning and super dry). Don't ban them, but be more uofront about risks and advice to get through them safely.
But tying Darwin Awards to a medical thing like that? Way uncool.

The whole challenge culture seems ridiculous to me.

(Now get off my lawn, kids.)

The darwin awards refers to his (and others) desire to gain fame on social media that involves risk.

Yeah, but the One Chip Challenge isn't normally fatal and it isn't his fault he had a heart condition he didn't know about.
Wanting to attach a Darwin Award to an event that's otherwise safe that led to a medical emergency and tragedy is mean.

It did end. The company has self-corrected.

Publicity brings public awareness. I'm confident that the issue will self-correct. No need for any sort of government imposed bans, in my opinion.

I couldn't agree more with your opinion.
